  • Compact design, but runs smooth and powerful
The image in the listing makes this look like a very large treadmil. It is not. The council sits 41" at it highest point from the floor (not from the tread, which is several inches above the ground), and is 22" wide. It is not bad though. I am 6' tall and can use it comfortably. My arms don't hit the handles and they are at the perfect height to hold them when I need to take my heart rate using the built in sensors. I can do a comfortable stride even in a casual run as long as I make sure I keep to the front of the tread so my foot doesn't run over the back edge of the tread. It tracks your distance and calories burned as well and is very easy to use. It automatically adjusts the incline smoothly while you are running on it as well. ... show more

  • A Solid Home Treadmill That Covers All the Bases
This Renestar treadmill punches above its price point with a feature set you'd expect from more expensive machines. The 3.0HP brushless motor runs quietly and smoothly, which makes a real difference when you're using it early in the morning or in an apartment setting where noise matters. The 0-15% auto incline range is wide enough to create genuinely challenging workouts, and the Bluetooth speaker is a nice touch that actually sounds decent for a built-in option. The LED display is easy to read mid-workout and the pulse monitor gives you a quick heart rate check without needing a separate wearable. Folding it up for storage is straightforward, and the 300-pound weight capacity makes it a realistic option for a wide range of users. Assembly took some time but the instructions were clear enough to get through without frustration. For a home treadmill that handles daily use without taking up permanent floor space, this one is worth serious consideration. ... show more

  • Wait for the next revision. Wait for the next revision.
Assembly– Took fifteen minutes. But only that long because I did not quite understand the instructions, at first. Every time powered on: a sickly *pop*, long high-tone, musical-ditty all at once, way too loud: Minus One Star. Raised up the treadmill platform: was immediately disappointed at how not-vertical it sits: I thought it would be thinner, take up less space… Dang, doesn't quite fit upstairs here. [It will be harder to bring the assembled treadmill downstairs than it was to push the box upstairs.] But I'll try to make it fit in this tiny space at the top of the stairs: pictured. The display is cheap, three numbered displays that show two datasets apiece (Incline/Calories, Distance/Time, Speed/Pulse), auto-switches between every three seconds, no control over that, get out of sync between the three should you adjust the Incline or Speed at not the same time as it shifts between Distance and Time: obnoxious. The buttons on the display are unevenly spaced, perhaps to make it easier to see Start and Stop? But those are green and red, respectively. The buttons can be long-pressed to quick-adjust Speed and Incline. The buttons on the handles: convenient, sure, (though the same ones are right there on the display, a few inches away) but with those there and the pulse sensors after: feels like I'm gripping remote controls rather than firm handles. The handles are positioned just-so (for me) that there's pressure on my shoulders, pulling me down into the treadmill: would be helpful for zero gravity, but that's not the case here. I find myself being pulled down to the tread (straining my neck), or hunching over (/leaning upon) the handles… Would be helpful were they adjustable. Might not fit you right at all. Feels like the handles should be longer, to give us options of where best to grip/walk: without feeling like we're pressed up against the front. Also, there's a screw-head underneath exactly where we grip on both sides: uncomfortable. Incline adjusts quickly: single steps up/down on the handles, or 3,6,9,12 on the display button. Drops back to zero when Stop is pressed (watch your toes). Speed adjust quickly too. Resets to zero on Stop. This treadmill has No Memory: not that I mind that, but others might prefer a running Distance Counter across sessions (to know how far you got this week/month). Comfortable to walk on, which I do barefoot. Cannot really speak to running upon, as I cannot do that. [Stupid disabilities.] Sounds like a shuttlecraft as it speeds up to take-off (while I watch from the sidelines). The power cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the other side of my stairwell. Could be a little longer, perhaps. Smelled a bit funny for the first week after unboxing… "What's that smell? Oh, right." I wondered when wandered upstairs for the first few days. I don't notice it now. Smells a bit like warming plastic when going fast(er than I can use it), but that's to be expected during the breaking-in period. I intend to forego my elliptical for a few weeks before I get around to posting this review: using the treadmill exclusively. I find Speed 3.0 (MPH?) and Incline 6 to be a good level (for an amateur) taken for 10 minutes a day. [Got to work my way up to faster.] Uses similar/different leg muscles, but I feel like nothing is happening above the waist. [Update– A week later of not using the elliptical, I started getting intestinal/digestive issues, common for me when I go too long without working my core: as the elliptical does, and the treadmill didn't. Started alternating between the two: got better.] There's a small ledge on the display to hold your phone/tablet: slippery if your phone has no case, too short if you have a finger-hold knob on the back: the ledge could be deeper, your device can slip off when running along, landing at your feet, getting projected off the back (into my wall): not great. There are blue dashes beneath a line on the display: do nothing, look like they're supposed to do something (like an EQ, or incline map), but don't. The greater the incline, the more I find myself hunching over the handles: they're too low (for me) to grip without grabbing the ends (beyond the pulse sensors), feeling like I could lose grip entirely. Not sure I can explain that right… The handles are too low and too short. There needs to be an ability to raise/lower/lengthen the handles by a few inches. Feels like I'm going to sprain my neck holding the sensors properly at Incline 9 walking upright, or I have to hunch forwards. Takes fifteen seconds from Speed 8 (the maximum) to 0 when pressing Stop, then, twelve seconds to go from Incline 12 to 0. Thirteen seconds for "Machine Unfolding" to drop from the tread upright down to the floor (on its hydraulics). Mode Key– Countdown timers: Time/Distance/Calories. Only adjustable when Stopped, first. Swaps between Time: 15, Distance: 1, Calories: 60. Use Speed up/down to change those settings. Program Key– Cycles through twelve different Speed/Incline modes with ten settings each, Speed button to change the setting. Triple-beeps before changing Speed/Incline while running. The instruction booklet lays them out (confusedly): pictured. I prefer constant settings. BT Sound– "hnk_audio" named: the speakers are on the bottom, not facing you (even though it looks like those silver bits should be the speakers). The sound isn't great: tinny, weak, no bass. Volume controlled by your device. Hard to hear over the sound of the motor, unless you turn it all the way up: which makes it sound worse, starts to distort. Better to stick with earbuds. Last year, I reviewed another Renestar Treadmill. I disliked the handles: which are further apart, taller, longer: better than this one, turns out. The tread was wider, longer. The incline was greater. Went faster: or so it seemed. Slightly more HP. I gave that treadmill to my mother, went back and tried it again last weekend: I think I like that one better. Though, for different (and some similar) reasons it also got Three Stars. Overall– Three Stars: for a basic inclining, smaller, treadmill; the handles need to be adjustable in height (and be longer), the sound (including boot-tones) is awful. ... show more

  • Nice upgrade from my 4mph under desk walking pad
I have been on a hiatus from the gym since the lockdows began in 2020. I had been using a max 4mph walking pad to supplement our daily outdoor walks or to replace them when the weather was bad. A few months ago I had an opportunity to use a gym facility for a month and I was reminded how much I like (and miss) the challenge of an incline walk on the large and expensive professional models of the Precor treadmills. Unfortunately I don’t have enough space for a machine that big, nor do I happen to have the better part of $20,000 to spend on the professional machine I adore so I began hunting for an upgrade to my current walking pad that had some key features: - Adjustable incline that goes to 15% (my preferred max incline setting on the Precor) - Speeds up to 6mph - Compact footprint and light enough to move - Long enough and wide enough to use without worrying about where my feet are (aka not falling/stepping off the treadmill because I am streaming/looking at something on my phone/tablet) Renestar had the features I had specified as must-have criteria in this machine. The reviews on their other models were overwhelmingly positive so I felt reassured that this new model (with no reviews) would work out. Overall: The machine is attractive and easy to set up. I definitely find that the enhanced speed and incline are offering a more challenging workout than my walking pad. The ability to collapse it by folding up the deck to make it smaller is much appreciated. I don’t love the narrow space between the handlebars while walking or the low overall height of the console, but those weren’t factors I had previously defined as being “must haves.” I like it for running better than walking because my arms move well above the handlebars when I am running. I’ll be moving the new treadmill upstairs where I am excited to continue enhancing my cardio health using this new machine. ... show more

  • Foldable Treadmill
This treadmill has a sturdy home-gym look with a foldable frame that helps save space when it is not in use. The running surface feels roomy enough for walking or jogging, and the 0%-15% auto incline adds more workout variety than basic flat treadmills. The materials feel heavy-duty, and the frame feels stable under use. The LED display is easy to read, and the controls are straightforward. The Bluetooth speaker and pulse monitor add useful extras without making setup complicated. The 3.0HP brushless motor runs smoothly, and the 300 lb capacity gives it a more substantial feel than lighter models. For the price, the incline range, motor strength, foldable design, and feature set make it a strong value for home workouts. ... show more
