Outside is nice cotton however the inside is plastic. Just not sure in the long run how the plastic will hold up to washing. Also the zipper is not on the end of the pillowcase it is about 1.5 inches on one side to the end. Maybe I miss-read the description as it does say waterproof but I was not expecting plastic. They do seem to be good quality just afraid of how the plastic will hold up to washing so I’m returning them. Seems to be well made. I like that it is a quilted fabric instead of the thin fabrics of other mattress encasement protectors. My Twin XL mattress is 9 inches with a 2 inch foam topper, which adds up to 11 inches. I purchased a Twin XL and it is too big. Since this encasement is supposed to fit up to a 14 inch mattress I didn't think it would be too much extra. However, I really think it would fit a fifteen inch mattress. Also, it is a few inches too long. Either the manufacturer doesn't want to save money by skimping on fabric, or they plan for it to shrink a lot when washed. (or their quality control is lacking.) You need 2 people to put this on - but its worth it Sheets fit snuggly. Seems a little too big at first but after you wash it it will shrink a little. I have these at our second home and was glad to finally find them again for our main home. You won't be disappointed.
