  • Best way to heal a new tattoo!
Hands down, the best way to wet heal tour new tattoo. It’s smooth, light weight and moves easily with your skin. I’ve tried other products (like saniderm that always pulled ink causing me to need a touch up even though I’m experienced and know how to apply and remove). It doesn’t feel still or uncomfortable, it feels like a second skin. Doesn’t leave annoying lines around it from pulling skin. It’s easy to apply and stays on. I leak a lot of plasma and there has been times where it was so full it leaked but that is to be expected, I just press it all out and seal the edge that lifted up with a small piece. If it doesn’t leak and I see it’s filled too much, I’ll use a sterile needle and pull a part up and poke it, drain some of it out, wipe with a clean paper towel and get a small piece to patch it back up. The knee is just hard to deal with period so you’re going to get creases and bubbles but it will be fine, if they are too big and you can’t push them out you can poke it, smooth it out and use a piece to patch it back up. I keep my tattoo covered for at least three days, four tops. Everyone heals differently and some people prefer to keep it on longer or change it out. It’s up to you. But for me, by three days when it comes off it’s ready to peel. I love healing this way because there are no worries of scabs and dealing with them. It’s pricey but it is worth it! I’ve included some photos of recent tattoos with it on and showed what it looks like on the knee (the Bee tattoo). ... show more

  • The only 2nd skin I'll use when I get tattoos
Great product, stays on until you're ready to take it off and if applied properly, they don't leak. I always wipe the outside of my tattoo with alcohol before I put this on as that dries the oil from your skin and helps the adhesive stick and not leak. The matte finish is nice as well and we don't get skin irritation from this. They have different size rolls, but I prefer the 8" width. Really helps the healing process, keeps your clothes and sheets clean from ink stains and the price is good for what you get. I always cut round corners as that helps it from peeling off before you want it to. ... show more

  • Good Product
I have most of my upper torso covered in tattoos now, and I have tried allot of different products to help me heal. First off, always use some kind of derm, it heals faster and with less color drop out than the normal "wash 3 times add unscented lotion blah blah blah". Those stupid instructions never worked for me! My skin always scabbed over in places, and if it did scab the ink would get pulled out! The only way for me to heal after a tattoo is some kind of derm. I started with Saniderm, it was way better than dry healing, but didnt breath very well at all. The trick to using any derm product is to prevent any pooling of fluids. The first couple days there may be pooling, but you need to prevent this, as your skin will become irritated under long exposure to fluids. I usually take a few days off of work and chill! Sweating, is one of the biggest contributes to the fluids, so stay home, Netflex and chill!! If you sweat, it will dilute the plasma, preventing the your tattoo from healing. As I digress... the best derm product needs to breathe! I moved to tatuderm. Great product, and it breathes really well. I tried this the other day for the first time, its much thinner material than saniderm or tatuderm, so it moves allot better with your body. It also breathes allot better. The down side... its really thin, which makes it easier to tearing. Its also harder to get bubbles out that form when you first apply it. Usually I just squeeze them out, but with this product, the bubbles will pop. I think its a little better than tatuderm, because of the breathing and better feel, after all you have to leave this stuff on for around 3-5 days... so it needs to be as comfortable as possible. ... show more

  • Love this stuff!
I order this religiously and go through it quickly with daily tattoos. I've never had any problems with it, and my clients love it. Price is decent. It is not easy to remove but that's the point. You don't want it coming off while your tattoo is healing. I always let my clients know when it's time to remove the bandage to stand in the shower and let the water run on it and that makes it a lot easier to come off. This stuff is honestly amazing because it saves the client from having to constantly deal with cleaning their tattoo during the healing process, and the tattoos look amazing after wards. It definitely protects tattoos from getting infection. A lot of people have pets and pet hair gets everywhere. A lot of people work out daily and this protects their tattoo from getting germs as well as stopping the transfer of blood on equipment. It's just so much better using this than doing the typical Saran wrap back in the day ... show more

  • Price check worth it
Great product! Cheaper to buy on Amazon than with a supplier even having a discount code.

  • Amazing product if allergic to second skin!
My first experience was with second skin and I learned I was allergic to it, which sucked because I loved the concept for tattoo after care. After doing some research derma shield came highly recommended for those allergic to other products. I did a patch test before my next tattoo and absolutely no reaction in the 24 hours I had it on! My artist applied this over in the picture and it was so smooth and easy to apply. Hours later and absolutely no reaction and no weeping like the first time! I'm thrilled! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Just OK
It's a good second skin. However, it's not as sturdy as Sani-Derm. It's thinner and more pliable.

  • Perfect for healing tattoos!
My first time ever using second skin. This is honestly a game changer. The quality is amazing for the price. I just had a half sleeve done to my hand and it is very durable on my fingers and functions as it should. Super easy to put on as I do it myself. Removal is scary but not too painful and the appearance of the tattoo looked great afterwards. ... show more
