I've always purchased my glasses at local retailers and the strongest magnification I can find is 3.25, but TruVision offers every magnification anyone could ever want. Every pair of glasses I've bought in the past from local stores didn't very last long, are cheaply made, and break or scratch easily. Well, I'm so glad I found these TruVision glasses on Amazon. First, they're packed in a nice box and each pair (I bought a 3-pack) has it's own soft case. Nice touch. The first thing I noticed upon opening was the nice weight and feel of high quality, strong glasses - and I was very surprised. They felt nothing like the cheap glasses I've been buying at my local dollar store or grocer. When I put them on they fit immediately. I didn't have to bend them or make huge adjustments. They also grip my face well and don't slip. Most importantly, almost every off-the-shelf pair of I've bought in the past has an area of imperfection right around the edges of the lens that causes a blurred, "googly eye" effect when looking out of the very edges of the glass.. But these TurVisions are crystal clear the entire length and width of the lens right to the very edges. I love the design & style too. Most every pair I've bought in the past are bent incorrectly and not to my liking. They always seem to have an "up-curve" bend from the middle of the frame that reminds me of an outdated 60's or 70's look and I have to bend them down so the lenses appear straight across at the tops and look decent. These TruVisions, however, are the complete opposite. They were ready to go out of the box. The rims / lenses are designed to be straight across the tops, offering a modern, sleek, low profile look with no bending or adjustments needed.. Will definitely buy again no doubt. ... show more

This is my second order of these readers and I’m generally very happy with them. The only issue I’ve had with them is I lost one nose pad and I bought a package of replacements (also from Amazon) that included new screws (which was actually the only piece I actually lost). Unfortunately I was unable to put a new nose pad on the glasses because the threads in the glasses were not the same as the new screws so I had to toss the pair. I assume the replacement screws are probably the most common thread pitch, but that might not be true. ... show more

These glasses were actually for my 95 year old mother in law. She has macular degeneration and needed a stronger reading glass. She said that they are helping her read. That makes her happy. We both felt that the glasses are good quality and very sturdy. They do not have a thin lens but at that strength I wouldn't think they would.
