    • Fixed my RayPak 405B Pool Heater
First I have a degree in electronics and I'm a licensed C-10 electrical contractor. That being said my old temp control PC board was different than this new revision. My RayPak 405B has a switch for low temp control and high temp control. My old board had connectors for sense 1/lower and sense 2/upper, where this board only had sense 1 and POT R12. The POT was my red wire from my switch and the other connector was the dual blk wire upper/lower. The rest was the same as the old PC board. My heater now comes on automatic and I can switch between low temp or high temp with heater shutting off once temp is met. The interlock also works if the pump goes off and no water flow, the heater shuts off. There is a basic schematic that I was able to read which made it easy to understand where the wires went. I'm not talking a full electronic schematic but simple flow chart like common, 24V hot, low, high, sense1, sense2 etc. But still I would not recommend doing this unless you have a background in electronics. My problem before was the ignition spark would continually run and there was no temp control just the highest. The problem was two fold, the temp control pcb here and my ignition control module. The ignition control module was the constant spark problem, it was from Jandy but what's important is the model was the same S8600F. Like your home heater they use the same ignition control modules like these pool heaters, so any supplier as long as its a S8600F or whatever your module's model will work. Saved me $1600 to $2000 instead of buying a new pool heater. At least I have time now until I can afford a newer pool heater! I gave 4 stars because I wish it gave just a little more detail on what model of RayPak heaters this will work, more description.
