This was to replace our broken hands-free motion-sensor can. What a pain to keep changing out batteries bc they died so frequently. When it finally just seemed to stop working, I opted for a foot operated opening can. We love it! It did take a week or so to get used to a different motion to open the can and to not "stomp" on it. You don't need to do much to get it to open. Too much foot pressure equaled slamming up into the edge of our counter. Now, all of our household is acclimated, and we don't give it a second thought. I just love the slow close lid (no banging shut) AND the ease with which it can be fully opened in position. This is so helpful when I'm prepping a meal or juicing so I don't have to keep opening it. It just sits in the open position. When ready to close, a little tap is all that's needed. I've found this can stays much cleaner than our motion can did. I don't have to stand over it with a messy item. For whatever the reason, I'm needing to clean this van far less often. Lastly, it seems to hold trash odor in well. We left the boys (17 & 22) at home for 2 days. When we returned, all seemed well. When we opened the trash can, a stench arose! Our home did not smell bad at all upon arriving home. The stench had been kept inside the can. Apparently, the boys did not take the trash out as they had been instructed to do. The food I had thrown into it just b4 leaving town had simply festered for 2 days while they ate frozen meals and take out. Lol

My garbage never looked so good. My kitchen looks high class cause of this thing. My mother bought it for me because she always complains about my old plastic garbage bins. which are everywhere. I have a lot of garbage and I keep the lids off so it’s easier and faster to throw my crap away. I don’t understand. What’s the big deal about my plastic garbage cans but to her it’s a big deal. They get on her nerves really bad. I could care less. I thought Hey you want to buy them, go for it ma. Please -you can buy me five more of these beautiful garbage cans!!! they’re huge and they’re beautiful!!! But I had an issue in the beginning and that was the closed lid. I already mentioned that I don’t like the lids. I don’t want to have to use my foot to open it up every time. I’m always in a rush or completely drained from work and too lazy to stop and open the lid. I just want to throw out my crap now. I have no patience. Or I try to get some points throwing it out from a distance. The thing is -You can keep the lid up!!! -that is the best part of it because at first I thought I HAD to step on the foot pedal to open it. I was like this isn’t gonna work, but it stays open if you want it to. When my mother comes over or guests, I’ll keep it closed and I take my time throwing out my garbage - whatever it takes to make my mom happy.

Way better than the $20 Walmart plastic bin I had. Probably never going back to those again. I can’t compare it to any of those “fancy” $150+ ones I’ve seen from other big brands but this thing is solid and gets the job done just as good I’m sure. 10/10 recommend if you want to upgrade from a cheap plastic bin but don’t want to spend a ton. People complain about smudges or how easily these get dirty but honestly either I don’t care enough or it’s really not that noticeable because I would have to get out of bed right now (which I won’t) to see if mine looks dirty. Anyway, just buy it you won’t regret it.

I have had stainless bins double the price. This one is a bargain. It isn’t as solidly constructed as the fancier ones but it gets the job done. It doesn’t sit flush against the wall because it’s lid opening mechanism bulges out in the back but that’s ok with me. Time will tell if it will hold up well and not become unsightly with rust spots.

This trashcan is so much better than the one I bought from IKEA. It works when I want to and easy to clean. Material is durable and I don't have to worry about breaking it. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the trash bag creates suction and becomes hard to take out when full. I had to do a little Jerry Rigging to make it easier. Every once in a while, the lid will missalign and gets stuck but that's negligible.

I have tested how easy it is to knock over the various shaped trashcans and have settled on the D/half circle shape. I have small-medium sized dogs that will be interested in trash if I forget to A: kennel and B: put up trash when I leave the house. Not only is the scent blocked well, but the can would be a greater challenge to tilt, so I am less worried about being a forgetful mess of a person.
