I've been using Punky Apple Green for years, but thought I'd try out the Alpine. Nope. Never again. Everything is green. This bleeds way worse than any of the other Punky colours I've used. I'll be sticking with my Apple Green.

I love that the color doesn't fade quickly at all. My hair is fried, and the normal "long lasting" colors don't stick around long, this one does! I pretty much only have to touch up my roots, but for the next week I'm stained green. Not just from rinsing it, but every time I shower.

This is the most messy, staining, most frustrating semi-permanent brand I've ever used. It stained my shower just washing it out. But yet it didn't stick to half of my hair so I get to go through that God awful process all over again tomorrow to fix the spots that didn't grab. The color that did stick is beautiful but honestly not worth the bs to get it when I can get the same result from a different brand. ... show more

I've been using Punky Color for years now. It smells great and is gentle on my naturally curly hair that tends to be on the drier side. I've changed shades multiple times (Violet, Flamingo Pink, Plum, Poppy Red, and Midnight Blue), and the photos show my latest combination. I had probably washed it a couple of times at that point. I used three colors this time: Alpine Green, Atlantic Blue, and Purple. Some of the reviews crack me up honestly. Yes the semipermanent dye will stain things as that is what hair color will do. It isn't that difficult to use a bleach cleanser on your tub and shower. Bleach cleans it right up. If you don't wear gloves, then yes once again, your hands will become stained. Who doesn't think to wear gloves??? Lots of reviewers out there talking about how the color doesn't work. If you have dark hair, with the exception of perhaps the reds and purples, it isn't going to show up! You have to bleach your hair first. My natural color is a medium dirty brown color, so I had to bleach it before dyeing to make these nice and vivid. I have to wash it several times before I can see any noticeable fading. I also use color depositing shampoo/conditioner to help keep it fresh between colorings. ... show more

I've been coloring colorful colors in my hair for over 30 years. This is by far the longest lasting vibrant green that I've ever used. It did bleed for a long time only if I didn't use cool water tho. Pictures are 2nd day after coloring it and over 2 months after coloring it. I am pretty happy with this product. It has worked a lot better so far compared to other semi-permanent hair dyes I've used in the past. I had asked the question if this dye had a tendency to bleed into the rest of your hair during shampooing if you only do streaks, but it didn't seem like anyone had any answers, so I gave it a try and I can say that the alpine green color only tinted a little hair around the steaks a super light turquoise/green color, but it should be gone within one more shampooing. The photo I attached is the color after one shampooing. It was a bit darker right after I did it. I can't say yet how long it'll last me since I have to wash my hair nearly every day. I will update this review with the number once the color is faded completely. I followed the instructions, applied to dry unconditioned hair with a tint brush and my fingers (You will need your own gloves!!) And left it in my hair for 40 minutes. My hair is all the way down my back, previously bleached and I did two streaks which only took up maybe 1/10th of the jar. I will warn though: PUT DOWN NEWSPAPER or a plastic sheet or something to protect your work surface. I didn't care about the dye staining my shirt but this stuff stained my white bathroom countertops in multiple spots with light turquoise splats (mostly from the water splashing off my hair when I was washing it out). So far rubbing alcohol, bleach and vinegar has not completed taking out the light blue splatters yet. I hope the stains will fade in time but be careful as this stuff has the potential to not only stain your clothes but also your counters, sink, bath tub or floor/wall if you're messy with it. I would also like to add that after rinsing it out of my hair and drying that there was no stains on my pillowcase or clothing so once it's dry you should be good to relax. *Edit* The dark color lasted less then a week (or 4-5 washes). The second week it started fading very quickly to a very ugly light green that lasted over a month. This dye may be best for all over color but it was a lot of work to put streaks in for only a few days of bright color. The stains on my countertop did eventually go away after multiple cleanings. ... show more

I bought this for a Halloween costume. I know usually if you want a nice bright color you have to bleach your hair. I did not want to bleach my whole head so I just did steaks in the front and on top. I put it all over my head just to see what would happen on my unbleached hair. (natural hair color is light auburn)The color took to my whole head and looks amazing. The only complaint I have is it has a very strong perfume scent. ... show more
