  • Bad harness, clogging, bristles, but great cord and suction!
Style: Restaurant Tool Kit
Although it is lighter weight, the harness is terrible and painful. It is also difficult to put on because it twists and is not stationary. I have had a cleaning business for 20 years and used only Quarter Vacs. I bought two of this model a couple months ago and regret it! The 6 quart tank may have been an odd shape and a be little heavier, but it is an all day long wrestling match with this backpack because the weight shifts continually. This brand has great suction and many of my friends have bought them at my recommendation. The cord has been upgraded and does not tangle easily, which is great. When I first began buying this brand, it came with a horse hair, soft floor brush, and did not collect hair and lint in it. I continually have to stop to vacuum the bristles off and pull lint from it. The small bag fills up very quickly, and it is hard to get the edges of the bag to lay flat while keeping it away from the latch to clamp the lid shut. Quarterback makes a great product, but the engineering in this one was a fail. It has great suction and can reach under furniture well, is a dream to vacuum stairs with and the long cord is great for cleaning mansions without having to stop and replug. The old 6 quart Quarter vac is the best vacuum ever sold for hardwood and tile! Five stars was not enough! But there needs to be a redesign of this harness and the old horse hair bristle needs to be brought back and included in the kit. It still does a fabulous job cleaning, but the shoulder and neck pain from the continual shifting tank and having to stop every few minutes to vacuum the bristles is a problem. ... show more

  • Best suction but..., worst backpack harness design EVER!
Style: Restaurant Tool Kit
Let me preface my review by stating that I've been in business for nearly 30 years and while I have used many vacuums I've found ProTeam to be the absolute best when it comes to suction, overall long-term durability, motor performance, ease of maintenance. I've owned several of the 10Q backpacks, equivalent to the Coachvac, but I eventually switched to exclusively using the Tailvac (of which I have multiple). After nearly 20 years of Tailvac use I decided to try something new and purchased ProTeam's GoFit 3Q backpack and I have to say, I now remember why I initially went with the Tailvac. The GoFit 3 is an exceptional vacuum and is incredibly lightweight. ProTeam has made a lot of notable advancements in their product lines, which are quite apparent if you've been using ProTeam products for as long as I have. That said, this unit's backpack harness is an absolute nightmare, and if your vacuum is going to be used 8 hours a day, 5-7 days a week... DO NOT BUY THIS! The harness was clearly designed by someone who has not or does not use the product on a daily basis or long-term, and, the design leads me to believe that they've likely never gone hiking or even walked with a regular backpack. Simply stated, the harness is designed in such a way that the weight of the vacuum itself shifts. After about 20 minutes of use I began to feel pain in back muscles and then on the sides of my abdomen. At first I thought what I was experiencing was due to user error but after taking the unit off and examining the vacuum harness I noticed that there were 2 (two) independent sections that were able to shift independent of one another. I thought perhaps the screws (2 large screws) were loose but after attempting to tighten them I recognized that they were indeed fully tightened. It was then when I decided to take the upper section of the harness off (with the same screw) and when doing so I found the problem. I found that the upper section of the harness is designed to swing the top of the vacuum back and forth. So I became curious of the lower section, wherein I dismantled that as well and found that the lower section was also designed to swing back and forth, but intentionally with more drastic mobility. My conclusion of my findings is that the two sections of the harness operate independently of one another and cause the load to shift while you are working/ moving your body, and thereby creates stress to your body which not only results in pain over time but also rapidly increases fatigue. Anyone who has used a typical backpack while hiking, for example, knows that you would want the load centered and in line with your spine and evenly distributed between your shoulders. This harness design intentionally shifts the load in conjunction with your mobility (lean left, vacuum tilts left, lean right, vacuum tilts right) and your body then begins to compensate for the movement, all the while you are trying to perform the labor of vacuuming. ProTeam obviously attempted to achieve some sort of system for proper fitment for the user, as evident in the 1, 2, 3, 4 procedural steps when strapping the unit to your back, but most of that would not be necessary if the load wasn't able to shift during use. So while in the field I came up with a quick fix: I simply ran the hose through the carry handle that is located at the top of the harness, and then positioned the carry handle at the cuff (I purchased a 90degree cuff and found that this fix works for both the 90 degree and straight cuffs). The upper harness is able to be moved up and down for fitment; so I then pulled the upper harness as far down as possible so as to tighten the carry handle to where it is taut around the cuff, thus minimizing the ability for the upper harness to shift the load side to side. As for the lower section of the harness, I tightened the belt to its maximum tightness and keep it positioned in the small of my back when putting on the vacuum and leave it there as if it doesn't exist (I don't use it). After making these adjustments I had immediate, positive results in comfort, speed, ease of use, etc. In short, the upper and lower sections of the backpack's harness are grossly over engineered and designed in such a way that the use of this vacuum will hurt you with prolonged use, if not within the first few days of usage. ProTeam needs to offer a supplemental option that has a fixed positioning for the plastic inserts that I've described, which in current form allow for the load to shift. ProTeam, you know exactly what I am talking about. I will update this review with a video showing my findings, shortly. ... show more
