I use this for burning weeds in and around my garden. It works beautifully with an easily adjustable flame / heat. There is a learning curve so be careful around any plants you want to save until you get used to it. Mine works as it should w/o any negative issues; the hose is long enough to give adequate working area before moving the tank. As others have mentioned the shipped igniter (flint sparker is pretty much useless. I keep a Zippo in my pocket when working with this and it lights this well. Butane not so much, tends to get blown out by the torch. Also this is the fastest grill lighter I have ever used.

The longer metal pipe makes it easier on the back to use than the shorter models out there. I would like some type of grip to control the tendency of the torch to twist and slip in the hand, and so avoid inadvertent contact with the flame adjustment knob.

I purchased this to light my large outdoor wood fired pizza oven. I like the dial flame adjuster as it allows a constant flame. I can light the logs without having to use kindling. The included spark lighter didn't work. Also some reviews mentioned that the torch didn't work consistently. I found that you need to carefully screw the connection to the propane tank and make sure it goes all the way in.
