Features

  • Play like a Pro - The Black Ace LG, which stands for Long Grip, is a collaboration with Daniel de la Rosa, the worlds current #1 ranked racquetball player in the world. The paddle face is slightly smaller and the extended length of the pickleball paddle allows for two handed backhand players to use the paddle with ease and comfort.
  • Power Up for Enhanced Play - The raw carbonite paddle face on the Black Ace LG allows for maximum spin and optimal aerodynamics. The longer handle pushes the sweet spot north, creating a longer fulcrum at strike for maximum power with minimal effort.
  • Patented Kinetic System - The Black Ace LG is equipped with kinetic technology, our patented shock and vibration absorbing system that reduces vibration by 43%. An additional kinetic system is added to the handle of the paddle and acts as a last-pass filtration system due to the enhanced power of the Black Ace.
  • Elongated Grip - The Prokennex Black Ace LG paddle has a slightly smaller paddle face, allowing for an extended length of the paddle providing comfort and ease for two handed backhand players to use.
  • Air-O-Guard System - The first interchangeable edge guard for pickleball rackets achieves paddle protection without the cumbersome weight and balance problems of current, old-world plastic guards.

  • Best one in the ProKennex line
I've played with ProKennex tennis racquets for years. They weren't my first choice when I moved to Pickleball, but they are now. I do have some tennis elbow and expected the ProKennex paddles to significantly help. I think they do help, but not quite as much as I would have hoped. Regardless, ProKennex is still my "go to" paddles, and specifically, I find this DLR to be the best in their line. I've played with all 3 Black Aces ProKennex currently provides: 1) Pro, 2) DLR, and 3) XF. The material and thickness of the paddles seem identical to me. Where there is a difference is in the paddle face shape and the length of the grip. The XF has the most surface area and the biggest sweet spot, but it weighs more than the other two. That, and the bigger face, make it less maneuverable at net when compared to the other two. Volleys, hand battles, and dinks are where most of my points are won and lost so having the best paddle at net is important to me. This basically pushes the XF to last on this list for me. The DLR is the opposite. Long grip, smaller face, smaller sweet spot, and lighter. This makes for a maneuverable paddle at net. I do find that I have to focus a bit more on my ground strokes with the DLR when compared to the Pro, but the difference is slight. At net it is not so slight and where I feel the DLR really shines. The Pro is basically the compromise between the DLR and XF. The Pro is light and maneuverable, but with the shorter grip I find that I'm not always reaching those volleys and dinks I would like. Ultimately, I'm really happy with the DLR. I'm not a huge fan of the white and pink aesthetics and I really don't know what they were thinking with a white grip. It will get dirty looking fast compared to a black grip, but not the end of the world. I'll simply switch over to a black grip when the time comes. ... show more

  • Great High End Paddle
Outstanding paddle, as a racquetball player I had to see what the world #1 played with on the Pickleball court. Lightweight, great touch, and easy to generate some scary spin. The grip is very comfortable and after a few matches it did not get too slippery from sweat. I also play with a Selkirk Power Air Invikta which is the same length. If I had to do a 1:1 comparison I’d say this has less power but more control and comfort. The vibration dampening is better than any other paddle I’ve demoed. ... show more

  • Perfect weight and shock absorption
I've only played once (singles) with this paddle and totally felt in love with it. 1. The weight feels perfect - not too light, not too heavy. I previously used a Head paddle (2.5 years old). 2. The shock absorption feels awesome. The ball makes a slightly lighter sound than my old Head on serves and slower shots. If you smack at the ball, you still get the crispy sound, but overall it's gentler. 3. The original grip feels comfortable. I'll probably put an overgrip on it since it white handle gets dirty easily. ... show more

  • The “sand” rattle sound is normal!!!
This is a great paddle. This paddle has one of the lowest swing weights for its shape, making it incredibly maneuverable at the net. There is a lot of power, but a lot of control as well. I see another review, complaining about the rattling of the paddle. That’s actually a feature not a defect. My only problem with this paddle is the consistency of spin per paddle, and even each side of the paddle. I’d recommend ordering two or three, and returning the one or two that have variable roughness. ... show more

Good shape and perfect weight. The 4" diameter handle is easy to grip.

  • Not good quality
Initially this paddle was great. After 1.5 months it started to sound like there is sand inside the paddle. I have reached out to Prokennex and they have not replied t to any of my contact or warranty requests. Spend $250 on a different paddle. I can not contact the sell mer on here to see if they have a contact for help either. ... show more

  • Amazing Paddle!
I have progressed through 4 other ProKennex paddles and love this one the most. My last one was the (blue/orange one) Spin paddle, loved it but needed a tad more power. This new black Ace LG did not disappoint! Just enough power, love the extra length for reaching, still maneuverable and quick at the NVZ for volleys, and come on....prettiest paddle out there! I've gotten 3 ppl to buy them already! If you are looking for feel, touch, some power, and a super stylish paddle - this is the one! ... show more
