First thing out of the box, I noticed BIG!! Large enough for a big family. I bought this skillet to cook pancakes, and maybe hamburgers. I've found it is so versatile, I use it for a lot of other things as well. In the reviews I read, others complained that it has hot spots, and cycles too often, but the instructions say to heat it enough ahead of time to allow it to cycle 4-5 times to heat up to the right temperature and heat evenly. I do that, and have had no problems with uneven heating. It is made of a relatively thin aluminum alloy, which allows it to heat very quickly, but like I said, it needs a few cycles to evenly heat. One of the best things about this skillet is that its ceramic coating makes it super easy to clean. Many of the reviews I read said that they just wipe it out with a paper towel. I wasn't sure how that would work, and how sanitary it would be, but I tried it and it works very well. As far as being unsanitary, who scrubs their barbeque with soap and water every time they use it? This thing gets plenty hot to kill any bacteria, so I don't see it as a problem. There's a temperature guide in the booklet that came with it, and I follow that. Works well. The removable thermostat works consistently well also. I'd definitely buy it again. ... show more

My old skillet was flaking and it was time for a better one. This skillet is amazing! Easy cleaning. Highly recommend. Would make perfect gift, as who wouldn't need an electric skillet. I use it guide often.

In my opinion this is the best electric skillet I have ever used. I tried other name brands but this Presto with ceramic is just a pleasure to use and clean up. I gave my friend one and she loves it as well. Nice large size to fry multiple things at once.

It is only about a month old, but we like the ceramic coated frying pan. For now, it is still fairly non-stick without the Perfluorooctanoic acid based non-stick coatings. PFAS have the potential to be a health concern because they don’t break down easily and can stay in the environment and in the human body for a long time. The only negative thing that I have noticed is that it does have hot-spots directly above where the heating coil is. I suppose that if the base was made of a heavier material that it would spread the heat better. Also, the heating coil is only one loop instead of a double loop. This is just what I was looking for. It is not stick and heats up well. I love its large size. Perfect for a big family. I can fit 6 grilled cheese sandwiches at a time. Had this for several months now and it is working perfectly.
