In my opinion Pravana vivids last longer, have more shine, and give more even results than the other leading brands on the market. Magenta is one of the very best shades they have in terms of vibrancy and longevity. This magenta is a very strong dark pink and has almost a neon effect. I have been using this brand of hair dye for years. Hair must be lightened before use. I usually do not have to go that light or pale of a blonde but it doesn’t really show up very well on my normally medium brown hair. On bleached hair- it's extremely vibrant and lasts surprisingly long. A little bit comes out every time I wash my hair but thats to be expected and it doesn't stain my hands or skin while showering.

Long lasting. Sometimes, i get lazy and apply when my hair is pretty damp. I've noticed when I do this. It comes out a strong, dark gray that some might describe as dingy. It always fades to a perfect silver. Besides the ioio brand temporary dye, others have left a very blue undertone. When I bleach my hair to touch up my roots, this one has a more pinkish undertone left behind. So, my guess is that of the two primary colors used to make purple, they have the better proportion and formula of the right color.

It seems like there’s a bit of confusion with the product listing. Some reviews mention magenta, but as of January 2025, the listing says blue. My review is for the blue dye. I have bleached highlights in my hair, so I wanted to add some blue streaks myself without going to a stylist. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the results! The color turned out darker than I expected—I was hoping for more of a royal blue, but it’s more of a navy or midnight blue on my hair. Still, I think it looks great, and I’m hoping it fades a bit over time. I’ve washed my hair once so far, and the color hasn’t faded much yet, which is nice. Just a heads-up: during the first wash, a lot of pigment comes out, so I’d recommend wearing gloves. Other than that, I have no complaints about the quality. That said, I probably wouldn’t repurchase this one because I’m looking for a brighter royal blue. But if you’re after a deeper blue shade, this is definitely worth it.

Please do not buy this blue.. you can research and read all over Reddit and Pravanas website other experiences as well with this dye.. so here’s mine, I have been dying my hair crazy colors for over 17 years and I’ve used every brand out there.. this blue dye is no joke, it will leave your entire body Smurf blue and will not scrub off even with alcohol or whatever scrub you use, it will not come off for weeks!! This is just from rinsing the dye out and the water hitting your body, something is seriously wrong in the manufacturing of this product, and so many other experiences and stories say the same.. it will stain your entire neck, face and chest when you sweat despite it being washed out several times, and it continues to stain your body for months… if you’re brushing your hair over the sink and have some hair shedding, that hair will stain the sink and everything else, your bath tub will be stained everytime you wash your hair and it will permanently stain your nails for months just from washing your hair, you can use a good cleansing shampoo and it will still bleed dye forever… i tried to combat this situation by dying black over my hair and even though there was no blue left in my hair it still bled everytime my hair got wet or I sweat in the night. Scrubbing your skin raw everyday and feeling too embarrassed to even leave your house is just not worth it.. and no I’m not exaggerating. Research other stories about this dye as well..
