I got this to be a makeshift chicken hospital for some rescue chickens. They have to be quarantined for about a month before they can go with my chickens and it will be during some of the cold months so it will be in my basement. I had a small cheap Amazon coop I had gotten originally for this purpose, but it was too damn hard to clean because it was heavy and you couldn’t get to the entire bottom level very easily. So after looking around I thought I’d try this. It is very light, but sturdy enough. I put an adult size hybrid bike behind and in front of it to show the size. It’s quite roomy and the zippers will make it easy to access the inside and I could easily lift the whole thing up to clean out the bedding if I needed to. I’m a little nervous about repeatedly going in through the zippered part because the zipper seems weak as if it could easily break if pulled just the wrong way or too hard. The top tie downs are not sewn on properly, but I was able to feed it through the mesh close to the seam so I was able to secure it to the frame. Considering the cost and what I needed it for, I think it’s pretty good overall. 2023 Update: I’ve had this for a year now. It served its original purpose well. I used it to raise some freshly hatched chicks also. I’ve used it to introduce younger birds to the outdoors and to keep a blind rooster safe while he grazes, which is its current use while it’s still warm. It’s held up well, including the zippers. I use it when my chickies are babies to get them some lawn time supervised and safe, and when I need a safe spot for a chicken to be separated or protected for free range time. This isn't a full time spot for anyone though. Works great, make sure you don't pull too hard when setting up so it doesn't break the zippers. ... show more

I guess I assumed it was a pop-up tent, which would make it so easy to put up and take down. Popups are standard in tents these days, so it would be a much better option. I had planned to put it up for a few hours at a time, then fold it up for easy storage. It’s a hassle now with its pieced construction. While the structure feels solid, the fabric is slightly too small and the zippers are pitifully weak. The cover ties to the frame, which feels very insecure, and the mesh does not stretch to cover the full frame. It’s big enough for my 6 pullets to use until they are large enough to join the flock.
