The size of the net is larger than most and the weight at the bottom of the net allows the debris to fall down into it, allowing you to continue skimming the surface of the water without having to empty it so often. Also very satisfied with quality of this product.

Very useful, lightweight pool bottom scoop. Made of plastic so it is light, but perhaps less durable in the long run. Importantly, the nettIng is very pliable and thus is very easy to empty. Also, the scoop length and diameter are a bit larger than my old more expensive metal scoop. This makes it scoop more easily and efficiently. Definitely worth its purchase price.

This is literally the FOURTH net I ordered from amazon in attempting to find one that would adequately skim floating algae off the top of my 11 x 8 goldfish pond. (I had to return the other three.) This is the first one that really works, and actually skims debris (of whatever kind) as it should. Granted, this is said to be for swimming pools, but swimming pools also attract very fine debris that needs removing, so such a net should work adequately for both pools and small ponds/water features. Why is this one better than the others? It's deep enough to skim and trap a lot of junk so that said junk doesn't come out of the net as you're attempting to capture it. (That's a problem with shallow skimmers.) Secondly, the net material is very fine -- which is necessary to capture fine material like the algae I need to get rid of -- but it's not stiff. The problem with several other nets was the netting material was so stiff that it didn't allow, without a lot of hassle, for the net to be turned inside out to be emptied. This one does empty easily, and that is helped by the fact that there's a little weighted piece at the bottom of the net to help it turn inside out when emptying. That seems a minor point, but it's ingenious -- and every deep net should have such a thing.

Good luck picking up leaves from bottom of the pool. I had no problem with other ones before this one. I guess it is true when they say you get what you pay for.
