Last year, over the winter our pool cover fell into the water and brought with it a ton of "nature." It made opening the pool an absolute nightmare this year. By the time we got it cleaned and the chemicals right, it was time to close it back up again. I ordered this pool pillow, in hopes of supporting the cover and keeping it above water, so next year we can enjoy the pool once again. When it arrived, I was surprised how thin the plastic felt and had some concerns about how well it will withstand the Kentucky winters. However, we decided to give it a try anyway. I appreciated the fact that it came with a large valve to inflate/deflate but found it a little tricky to get it closed off once it will full, without losing too much air. I would've really liked if it had a smaller valve that we could've manually used to top it off but even so, it remained quite full and was able to float and support the cover as hoped. Once inflated, we used the handy rope to pull it out to the middle of the pool and our skimmer to align it as we placed our new cover. I would recommend putting it closer to the edge you are bringing your cover from, as we drug it quite a bit further than planned, into the water. There were no instructions on or in the bag, so we were really just playing it by ear. All in all, it seems as if it will do the job but the real test will come over the next few months. If it doesn't survive the winter, I will log back in and update my review. Thankfully, the bag included a few patches should we need them.

Very good quality product. I got this to use not in a water pool but a sandbox. I got a 6 ft round kiddie pool from Walmart to use as a sandbox. I was using an upside down planter to keep a tarp high and at an angle for rain drainage. But this caused creases and cracks in the tarp leading to water leakage into the sandbox. This was a perfect solution for me and just the right size. I inflated it about halfway with air, moved the toys to the side, and the Pool Pillow fit perfectly. It keeps the tarp high and it is rounded so I don't have the crease/crack problem. It would have been nice if it came with a way to use an air pump on it. I just held the air valve in the inlet and it worked fine for my purpose. It comes with a valve for a hose and filling this with water would not have worked for me as I need to be able to easily remove it for kids to play. It is well made with strong plastic and is very durable.

This pool pillow is heavy-duty and well-made! The material feels thick and durable, and the double seams give me confidence that it will last through the winter. The dual air valve made inflation easy, and the included grommets and rope made securing it simple. It fits perfectly under my above-ground pool cover and keeps the water and ice from putting too much pressure on the walls. Great quality and peace of mind for winter pool protection! We are not going to be closing our pool for another 4-6 weeks. I don’t want to blow it up before then or my cats might puncture it. Reviews said it’s adequate. Thickness is on the thinner side, but if we get one year’s use out of it, that’ll be fine. I’m presuming I’ll be able to inflate it with our air pressure machine. That’s what I use for all our big pool inflatables. I can update this review in September or October after we’ve installed it under the pool cover. Will also update this review if it fails during the winter.

I received this pool pillow quickly after ordering, and the shipping was fast. When I took it out of the package, I was impressed with the quality—it feels heavy-duty, durable, and true to size. My husband inflated it to check, and it held up great before we deflated it again. We’re not quite ready to put it to full use yet, as we still have a few warm days left in the season, but I’m hopeful it will hold strong through the winds and harsh winters we typically experience. We’ve tried other brands in the past and weren’t fully satisfied, so I’m optimistic this one will do better. I’ll be sure to update in a few months once it has gone through the winter, but so far, I’m impressed with the build and quality!

Haven’t been able to install this yet as we have not closed our pool. It appears to be a good quality pool pillow - thick material and large size which will hopefully have good air retention. I will update review after installation.
