Pool Mate 8-Foot Winter Water Bags should be placed around the perimeter of your in-ground winter swimming pool cover. Simply slide these winter water bags through the water bag loops included on your winter pool cover. These water bags include leak-proof valves that are easy to fill with a garden hose. Only fill the water bag half-way, this prevents ice from expanding and splitting your water bag. Pool Mate water bags feature a dual-chamber design, preventing the tube from rolling into your pool during the winter. Made with Extra Heavy-Duty 20 gauge black vinyl.

Thick
Style: Deluxe
I have been buying the blue water bags and I have not been very happy with the quality, they get holes in them in only a few months. Hopefully these thicker versions hold up for more seasons. They look good, thicker. I’ll update this if they don’t hold up.

80% OK, 20% leaked when new; replaced at no charge, but still a hassle to exchange
Style: Deluxe
The price was good, and if 20% of the 10 pack had not leaked, I'd given them great rating. On the plus side, Amazon replaced the bad ones, but it's still a hassle having to deal with making exchanges and shipping the bad ones back.

Leaking PoolMate water bags
Style: Deluxe
Immediately upon filling all double tube bags, 3 leaked. Two leaked at corners and one bag had 3" slit at seam line between the 2 tubes. JUST JUNK but I don't know if there are quality bags available under any brand or price. At $7 - $8 each, they are not cheap. HEADS UP: DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS BRAND/COMPANY. CAN'T SEEM TO FIND WAY TO RETURN 3 LEAKING BAGS AND NOT ALL 10. SUGGESTIONS?

Tube Quality
Style: Deluxe
Great idea for closing off openings on pool cover and deck. BUT the quality control is nonexistent. I bought package of ten and two leaked as soon as I put water in. After installing and letting set for a week two more leaked, i.e.., smaller leak. So, in summary so far, seems 6 out of 10 may hold water. I'm betting another may show a slow leak soon. In the tube leaks I got; it is simply adjusting the temp of the seam sealer to insure a seal. Then use air to check the seal. Sloppy manufacturing. The smart purchase is the double tube. If one side leaks you can at least use the other. Doubles your chances of getting something you can use. Amazon will take them back. Unfortunately, after putting water in tubes the work to clean them out and return them is a lot. After calling Amazon they did refund 10% as an alternative to returning.

Worked well. None defective
Style: Deluxe
I bought two boxes of 10 Pool Mate 1-3809-20-BLK-10 Extra Heavy-Duty 20 Gauge 8-Foot Black Winter Water Bags and they worked fine to keep leaves from blowing under my pool cover and into the pool. We have had freezing nights and the bags have held up well. They were not difficult to fill, either, and I am older with arthritis. Good product.
