I have used this company's products in the past with great success so I feel sure this will work good as well. I have not closed my pool yet and will not be able to give a full review until spring when we reopen it, that is why I left off one star and I will definitely come back in the spring and update this review.     • This an added step, doesn't replace anything else in your winter procedure
This is just something to help keep your water cleaner over the winter - I don't believe it replaces any part of your current winterization process. My main concern in ordering something like this is whether it would work with any type of pool system. Most people have chlorine or salt, but we use ionization, so I need to make sure it doesn't add more minerals (such as copper). So this seems like it's just enzymes, so it should be compatible with any pool system. I believe the theory is, the enzymes float on the surface and bond with things that land in your pool during the winter. While your pump is off, the water is still and the enzymes float, sucking up surface debris. When you turn on your pump in the Spring, all the surface enzymes go to your filter and backwashed out. I know that enzymes work great for RV septic tanks and things like that, so I'm inclined to believe it will help. I won't know for sure until Spring (and come Spring, I'm really not sure what to compare it to, to know how well it worked). I remain skeptical of gimmicky things, though. It says it removes metals, but my ion pool relies on a stable amount of silver and copper. Also realize, this does not replace ANYTHING in your normal winterization process. You still add the antifreeze, you still use the winter pill or whatever else you normally use. ... show more

This is a proprietary formula that claims to have fewer chemical by using enzymes. It says it creates a barrier for fine particles that sift through a pool cover. It also says it is engineered to perform in cold water situations. I’ve used harsh chemicals in the past and am willing to give Nature’s Remedy a shot when we close our pool here at the farm.
