  • Perfect for my application!!!
I purchased two of these. Neither one will ever see a cooktop though. I bought these to make a homemade water purifier with 2 Berkey water filters. And it is perfect for this application!! One pot goes into the other pot about an inch so I never even had to cut the second lid for the other to sit on. The pots are of a thinner metal and I can’t testify how long they would hold up to being used on a cooktop. But for this I can’t imagine anything better other than buying a berkey water system. With these I saved almost $250!! Plus you get an extra gallon and a half!! ... show more

  • Decent Place to Start
If you're new to home brewing, like I was when I purchased this pot, then this a great product to start with: it's the right price and will do the job to help you brew a 5 gallon batch of beer. Brew pots can be very expensive, so there's no reason for newbies spend hundreds of dollars on hardware they're not sure they're going to use. I've been through several cooks with this pot and it still holds up. The pot does feel flimsy and of lower quality when compared to better, more expensive pots. My main concern, however, is where the handles are attached on the inside of the pot: The handle anchors are not flush with the inside of the pot, with a little bit of space that could allow material to get stuck which could potentially lead to contamination if not cleaned thoroughly. ... show more

  • Good buy on a budget
I bought this pot to use in my first ever brew. I read all of the reviews and was worried it might be flimsy or poor quality, but that was not the case. Walls are a little thin but that's to be expected with the low price. Pot was able to maintain a rolling boil just fine. The one negative is the pot comes with a giant sticker on the outside which is very difficult to remove. If someone from the company is reading this, get rid of the sticker!! ... show more

  • Great Pot for beginning brewers
Great pot for the money and it does its job well. It boils about 3 gallons of liquid to make a 5 gallon brew. It does this with plenty of space left to avoid boil over and it cleans up easy. After reading some of the other reviews my concern was that this was going to made from tin foil but it seems plenty sturdy to me. Could I hit it with a sledge hammer without denting it? Probably not, but then again I just keep it on either the stove or in a cabinet. An additional plus is that the handles are placed high enough where you can pick up the kettle without oven mitts after an hour of boiling. All in all a great kettle for the beginning brewer. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for, cant beat the price
As a steel brewing pot, you cant get any cheaper than this. Pot is made of kind of thing steel, and the handles seem to be leaking, but for the price you pay, i would not have expected anything more or less. As long as you dont fill this up to the handles (over 4 gallons) this will work just fine. So for small batch brewer, this is perfect. ... show more

  • Not worth the money
This is a very flimsy pot, and not worth the money. I could have gotten a much better pot for the same money at a reputable brick and mortar kitchen supply store. The bottom is thin, and prone to scorching the wort. I am not sure I will even boil water in this pot again. Save yourself frustration, and get something else. Update - Ok, I was wrong. I am using it to boil water, but that is about it. As a home brewer, I have converted this pot to use as a hot water tank. The flimsy sides made it easy to convert with a weldless adapter, and it is sufficient size to use as a circulation tank. I still wouldn't recommend cooking anything in it, unless you are going to use it as a fryer. I give it a second star because the pot is now useful, though not for the original purpose. ... show more

  • Poor workmanship.
The pot has machining scratches and blemishes on the inside; and the lid fits only if I have my dog sit on it...which he doesn't like to do for very long. Granted, you don't need the lid when using it for brewing, but it's kind of nice to have it on there when you're making soup or something. I would not recommend this pot to anyone. Oh....and come on Amazon packagers! I know packing wrap is super duper expensive, but if you feel you need to put this product in a box that could hold a Mercedes, at least … well, if you need me to tell you how to pack it, you likely won't listen anyway. ... show more

  • 90% stainless. Handles riveted with aluminum.
Rivets are not stainless!!!!! If your looking for all stainless this is not it. Close but not fully all stainless. The aluminum rivets are already showing signs of pitting. Where is the aluminum? I hope not in my food.
