I bought two of these at the same time. I received 4 boxes in the mail (a Box A and a Box B for each run) within 3 days. All pieces were within the boxes, not a single pole, bolt, wire or tool was missing. The directions are simple, primarily just pictures with the parts for that step labeled, but they're easy to understand. Putting the poles and joints together only takes about 15-20 minutes, maybe less with help. They snap together easily and flawlessy and they feel as sturdy as any standard metal dog kennel would. Once the whole structure is up, it's sturdy and doesn't wiggle much at all when intentionally shaken. The doors require some assembly and that alone takes longer than putting the rest of the poles together. I would have preferred the door been a single piece rather than 4 separate poles that you essentially clamp together. The method to put the door together does make it pretty sturdy too, however, it can be difficult to get the door and the frame for it square. It took us a lot of readjusting to get it just right on the first run we put up. The second one went a little bit smoother since we knew what we were doing, but it still would have been nicer for the door to be all one piece. Chicken wire is only good for one thing and that's keeping birds in. If you live in an area with predators or stray dogs that could be a threat to your birds, don't even bother using the wire that comes with this kit. Just save yourself the heartache and buy hardware cloth. Or use the chicken wire temporarily, or even under the hardware cloth, but don't treat the chicken wire that comes with this kit like a permanent solution. We went ahead and installed the chicken wire and will reinforce it ourselves. The wire is very easy to install as the roll is tall enough to cover the whole front and back without having to stitch pieces together. To do the sides and top, you just toss the roll overtop of the whole run. Generally easy, maybe a little difficult for shorter folk like myself but still easy compared to alternatives. You can use side cutters to cut the chicken wire where needed but the easiest tool I've found for cutting chicken wire fast and smooth is a set of tin snips. We did not use the included zip ties. We bought a bulk bag of 1000 heavy duty, UV resistant zip ties and we zip tied the crap out of both runs and still had a couple hundred zip ties left over. I've used such zip ties on outdoor projects for years and they almost never fail so I plan to keep using them. I'll use the ones that came with this kit for indoor or personal use. All in all, two competent people can have the whole run put together and covered in wire in a few hours, maybe 3-4 hours. It's painfully easy to put together and if the metal is anything like dog kennels (which it feels to be nice, sturdy, but hollow metal poles) it will easily last 5+ years with zero maintenance. Compared to a wooden run we built 6 years ago that was rotting and collapsing in spots, this was easier to put together, looks better, and with the price of lumber right now it was a far cheaper option. The only way to make it better would be to offer just the frame without the chicken wire for a cheaper price so that folks could cover it with their own material such as hardware cloth. This was an excellent purchase, it arrived very quickly and the seller even sent a message after I purchased them containing the individual tracking numbers of all four boxes. I would definitely buy this product again and would recommend the seller.

I was pretty confident ahead of my purchase because of the solid reviews on this item. The frame is a simple snap together process. Everything fit nicely. I put the frame together by myself in about an hour and the door and latch mechanism took me another 40 minutes. The galvanized netting takes a bit and will need 2 people for the installation . Its just too bulky and clumsy for 1 person to roll it over the top and stretch it correctly. The packaging includes a box end wrench for the 2 sizes of nuts on the hardware bolts for the door & hinges. The only other tool I used was a rubber mallet to tap on the final couple of frame tubes as the nearly completed structure got tighter. It’s not mandatory for the installation but it did help me. No need for pliers or other wrenches or tools. I would recommend using gloves while snapping the pipes in place to avoid pinching fingers. The fencing is light weight and easily installed with the included nylon zip ties and cord. The short video within the Amazon listing is very helpful and gives you a quick look at how to snap this together and what it will look like. I had seen other reviewers writing about the thin (and therefore quick to wear out) tarp for the top so that wasn’t a surprise nor does it keep me from giving this product a 5 star review. I’ll pay the extra few bucks to find a better one. It comes shipped in 2 separate boxes. The big box includes the frame tubes and is about 120 lbs. My 2nd box arrived the next day after the first box and is about 25 lbs. Overall I’m really pleased and the 9’ x 12’ size is just what I wanted. I have a small chicken coop inside of this pen for my 4 hens so they have all the room they need and there’s plenty of extra room to add more. I am planning to follow some of the earlier reviewers advice and add some additional protection around the sides and under the perimeter to keep predators out. As mentioned by an earlier reviewer, this structure is really designed more to keep chickens in than to keep predators out. I feel like my set up is secure because I have a good lockable coop inside the pen and it’s located inside a fenced in back yard. I’m out in a rural area, but just have the hens for pets and eggs. Serious chicken farmers would want a heavier duty structure than this but it is exactly what I needed. See my attached pictures

I bought this to use as a chicken run. Pros: The frame comes together very easily. Under an hour for me to do alone. It’s far, far cheaper than most other chicken runs of this size. The included tarp is useful. It’s big enough to cover 1/4 of the roof and I keep it over my chicken coop during the rainy season. The included wire is useful for lots of other projects (though I don’t recommend it for a coop, more on that below). Seems perfectly sturdy. Cons: You need many, many more zip ties than are included in the box. Stock up, and make sure you get the kind that are UV resistant. The included wire is pretty flimsy. It’s perfectly suitable for keeping chickens in, but predators could easily chew through it. I opted to use 19ga hardware cloth on the run, and am using the included wire to make compost and leaf mold baskets instead. No matter what kind of wire you use, attaching it is very, very time consuming. This is not a project you want to try to complete in a weekend or even a week. Cutting the wire to size is tedious, even more so if you’re covering the floor, and the zip ties will make your hands numb and chafed in a matter of days. Using gloves is more comfortable but make the work much slower. If you go with this one, make sure it’s something you don’t need to use right away - do a panel once every other day until it’s done, because it’s really easy to burn out on this one. Keep in mind that once the wire is on, it’s a huge pain to take it off. This isn’t the model you want if you ever need to move the thing, because you have to build it all over from scratch if you do.

For what you pay, this is the best value out there per square foot of space you get. It’s actually very easy to set up, especially if your ground is flat so it can lay flat without needing dirt prep. There is plenty of wire, enough extra in it to add about six inches of extra wire around the bottom of all the sides as dig control. Even comes with the wrenches you need for the bolts! There’s a big pack of zip ties included which I used to get the wire in place, and also includes a roll of straight wire presumably for threading a sturdier connection to the frame, but if you’re lazy like me you won’t even need that right away unless you have serious predator issues. The tarp and it’s ties are super simple. Honestly very surprised at the quality and ease of use. I bought two, and they do take a couple hours to put together by yourself but the second went much faster than the first once I saw how it fit together. With two people it’s a breeze compared to other types of runs I’ve looked at. Make sure you turn the chicken wire roll standing upright to get single pieces the size of the ends of the run if you want to minimize the number of cut pieces. I assembled the door and laid the wire over it, attached it all to the frame, then just cut where it needed on the opening side of the door so it can swing, without needing to cut a bunch of individual pieces just for the door. Tin snips are handy but regular wire cutters or pliers will do fine. The chicken wire is plastic coated which makes it wayyyy easier to deal with than regular chicken wire. Overall will be buying again and highly recommend.

I did ALOT of looking through potential chicken coops. I had lost several hens and roosters to all sorts of wildlife before. Something needed to change. I was very impressed with this kit. The metal was solid with only a few small dents from shipping. The toughness is similar to the 1/2“ conduit. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The chicken wire was coated with great quality and quantity (we didn’t run out and had extra). The only negative was what most people have pointed out in the reviews: the zip ties are not worth the plastic bag they come in. I have never seen such fragile zip ties! I bought 300 black zip ties at harbor freight for <$7 and threw the provided ones in the garbage. And that is where the negatives end. The tarp is of good quality as well as the tie downs. The split doors are a nice feature that my wife and daughter love to use. Would buy again, especially if I could extend it even longer. Good look buying the supplies for a chicken run for less than this kit!

Reading through some of the other reviews I see complaints about this being "kinda cheap" - well, you DID order the least expensive option on all of Amazon, you likely shouldn't be shocked that this isn't made of titanium and doesn't come with a crew to install it. Over all I'm pleased. The frame is snap-together easy to assemble, all parts were provided, clearly labeled and the instructions were surprisingly good. I'd read some reviews that said there wasn't quite enough wire, but I had a lot left over (I bought the 12.5' model) so I assume that those folks had the large version. I believe I would have had enough wire to do that version too, since I was careful from the beginning to not waste any. I have a couple reminders and recommendations: 1) Chickenwire is made to keep chickens *in* - not to keep predators out. I'm adding welded wire farm fencing around the bottom 3 feet of this enclosure to keep dogs, foxes, raccoons, etc out. 2) Predators *dig* - you'll need something to prevent it. My solution is to lay 2 feet of chicken wire on the ground all around this, using landscape staples to keep it in place. This is because I'm too lazy to dig and bury the wire. I'm going to lay concrete pavers on top of the wire right next to the pen to help keep the wire in place and to provide extra discouragement for digging. 3) Birds and rats will fit through the gap by the door just fine. And then they're too dumb to get out. Just be aware. I'll probably rig up some sort of piece of wood or wire I can use to cover that gap at some point. 4) Small birds will be able to fit through the wire mesh. They will be motivated to get INTO the pen to get the chicken feed, but will be LESS motivated to get out, or will forget they fit through the mesh, and they will get stuck. Just be prepared to need to chase them out by opening the door. I may throw bird netting over this whole thing at some point if it gets annoying enough. I decided I didn't want to do the "wire the mesh onto the frame" thing and instead ordered an extra 1000 heavy duty zip ties. Made life a lot easier. Highly recommend. All in all, adding the chicken wire on the ground, the farm fencing around the base and the zip ties I spent an extra $130. I expect the concrete pavers to add another $60-$180 depending on how fancy I get with them.

The frame of this has worked great as a chicken coop. I was able to assemble it completely on my own. The chicken wire took forever to put on and the zip ties that come with this are absolute trash. They have continued to pop off and I find them all over the ground. The tarp that came with this is also terrible quality. It is not rain proof, water would drip through it every time it rained. And then on month 6, it just tore completely in half. Otherwise, I’ve been happy with the frame but I wish I had bought my own sturdy zip ties. Thankfully I haven’t lost any chickens when the zip ties pop off and create openings!

We've had this for 2 years and it's been fantastic. With some reinforcement around the bottom half with hardware cloth, this has kept the local raccoons and possums off my girls. However, we got home from a weekend camping trip and it had been storming the whole time we were gone. A HUGE tree maybe 30 ft tall and at LEAST a 24" diameter came down on the run and I have to say I was SERIOUSLY impressed by how well it held up! No chickens were injured in the event, the frame *bent* for sure, as would be expected... but it didn't *collapse* or crumble. The girls did escape from the newly made opening in the bent doorframe but they were all fine and honestly we couldn't have asked for a better outcome from such a huge tree falling. Just coming back to buy a replacement of the same run and figured I'd leave a review about how strong this little guy is despite how light it is and easy to assemble. Deceptively strong and protective.
