I didn't see any reviews or videos that addressed the issue so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the purchase. Once I started installing, I was shocked and frustrated to find that the heatsink sits too high off of the m.2 ssd. I removed the heatsink, traveled to my local computer parts store and purchased a low profile heatsink, installed into the PS5 (super easy by the way; don't be intimidated) and the PS5 fired up beautifully. This sis a very solid gen 4 drive. No it’s not the fastest available, but it’s still damn fast and perfect for my most plaid games in my steam library. I have it using its own heatsink installed in my Strix b550-f wifi upper nvme slot (duh) and it adds a perfect amount of aggression snugged between my 6800xt and right below my current Evga 360mm aio (soon to be the new 6fan vardar ek elite aio)...if it’s on sale and you don’t want to spend $40/$75 more for the more premium drives, this is a solid choice. ... show more

This works perfect and was priced right for PS5 upgrade the only small issue which is not an issue at all is that the Heatsink is a little too big that the cover for the drive compartment. But people to be honest you really dont need that cover but if it bothers that much then you can just get a smaller heatsink. otherwise this works just like it should A+ ... show more

This SSD was working perfectly fine for the last few years, but one day it just stopped working. I was troubleshooting it for hours with no avail. I researched online for hours, scanning websites, looking for a solution, but again to no avail. Before randomly failing, it was great.

The media could not be loaded. Works for PS5 if you have the Beta 2.0 system software. FYI Your expansion slot is not turned on if your not part of the the Beta or until the public version is released. The more popular and more expensive brands were sold out. I didnt want those anyway but was a little concerned I might miss some important spec requirements if I went with a non officially approved brand. This PNY met all the specs so I gave it a shot. Im glad I did as I got a $550 solution for $300. The more expensive brands were 7000 MB per sec this one is just over 5600 (min 5500) and it works great, If your looking for a less expensive option this is the key. One of the few NVME SSDs listed by specification to meet minimum specifications of Sony's PS5 Read speeds... took a gamble after watching a couple of reviews on youtube and other Amazon purchases... I paid more than I wanted but just came out recently on Amazon, had the heatsink version as it was only $10 more at the time, "you will have to remove that heatsink" and purchased a cheap aftermarket one that fit the Sony specs... Best price for size and speed for NVME drives at the time... Have seen this as low as $500 when on sale. Have over half the drive full at the moment never had the first issue thus far. ... show more
