    • Great stereo with lots of features at a unbeatable price
I installed this to replace the factory radio (with CD/cassette) on my 2002 Ford F-250 Superduty. I looked up a bunch of youtube videos on how to install double DINs, and it was very helpful. I had to shave the inside edges of my dash to flush and the stereo fit like a glove (with the help of the Metra 95-5817 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit). I love this stereo. The price was unbeatable and it's loaded with tons of options and whistles. Just installed it so time will tell how it performs over a long period of use. But so far, I can say these points - it's easy to program, the display is crisp and vivid, touchscreen and buttons work great, remote control works great, I love the AUX IN feature - plugged my phone to eat and streamed amazon prime music and it sounded great. I used the bluetooth - it paired easily with my phone and I made a few calls - very cool and safe. Um, that's about it so far. Haven't tried the CD/DVD feature, but I bet they will prove to be great also. I'll try and update it later with any new info that may arise. So far, I love it and recommend it :) ... show more

So first of all, let me start by saying I’ve had and used many brands in the vehicle electronic field. I’ve used more expensive brands and no name china brands. Planet Audio is very affordable with all the same features as a “top of the line” head unit. It has car play, back up camera compatibility, this head unit puts out crisp, clean audio and sounds great with subs hooked up as well. It also has many EQ settings to play with to create the sound you are looking for. Over all, great price, great item, and fast shipping. The install could be done by a “newby” with a little patience and reading but I always recommend a professional when dealing with wiring and electrical. 9/10 rating. ... show more

    • Great value, strong sound
No flashy screen savers, very basic EQ. However the 80 watt outputs definitely rock if you’re not going to use a amp- it’s the only option on Amazon for this budget that isn’t a toy based on my research. Compared to the no name deck I bought previous this thing is a beast

    • Unit "crapped out" after a week.
Replaced the factory head in son's 2002 Mazda Protege5; DDIN slot, using Metra DDIN dash and wiring harness kits. Hardware/screws included with unit were NOT flathead - which prevented unit from sliding into the DDIN slot - we had to scratch around in my screw box for some better screws. Wiring/installation fairly straightforward other than that. User interface fairly straight forward/intuitive; and (stated) capabilities at this price point seemed to be good value - but... Unit "crapped out" after a week. Unit would not retain settings (clock/equalizer) upon initial install - after several days unit began to reboot randomly; and radio began to take several minutes to "warm up" before it would work. Finally after about a week it would not turn on at all. Well within the return window; so we uninstalled/returned it and installed the BOSS Audio BVB9364RC - made by the same company - similarly spec'd - but a noticeably better unit. Can't recommend this unit - especially compared to the Boss Audio unit - which sounds better and so far (after a week of use) is still working as intended. 1 star for poorly thought out installation hardware (the Boss Audio unit mentioned DOES come with flat head (bugle) mounting screws) and what I can only assume are poorly-manufactured IC boards inside. ... show more

    • Economical unit to replace an older OEM radio
Put one of these in a neighbor's Camry that had the original JBL (with factory amp) just gradually die on him over the span of a year. Lost FM, then lost AM, CD's got stuck inside....you know the drill. We pulled the OEM unit, used the recommended wiring adapter that actually bypassed the factory amp and went right to the speakers. Worked great, added a rear back up camera and voila....old Camry feels (and sounds) like it did 10 yrs ago. Fun to have all the original functions plus back up camera and remote control as a plus. ... show more

    • A good value for the money.
First before I continue, I have reduced the stars from four to three. Nice stereo, one of the best that I looked at before I made a purchase. Like the Bluetooth a lot and the audio sounds really good plus good FM reception. A good value for the money. It does fall short in a couple of areas though, I wish that it had HD radio so that it would display song information on the display. The wallpaper is kind of useless as it only is displayed on the Home screen and it defaults to whatever you are listening to at the time be it AM/FM, USB, CD or Aux input. The preset EQ settings are kind of strange but the user EQ allows a better output for cleaner sound. But!!! the biggest shortcoming has to be the hands free. If listening to the radio and get a phone call the unit will stay in the hands free area and will not revert back to the radio station that you listen to, you have to hit the Home key and then the Radio key to get back to the music. Now not all is bad, the mini mic for the hands free gives a good clear sound over the phone which is a plus. Depending on vehicle type that may vary, in my two door truck its as good as it can get without an external microphone. I added the back up camera, SO far, I have to "select" camera from the menu in order to activate the camera AND then re-select from the menu for the radio. However, once a call has been made and you receive a call and then end the call it will return back to the radio function. I did not set up DVD play wiring as I have no intention of using that feature. All in all I am pleased with it. Installation I would rate a 7 out of ten for difficulty with 1 being easy. ... show more

    • Great Radio for the Money!!!!
This is a really good basic unit. The unit sounds incredible. There are many adjustments points to get the sound the way you like it. The Bluetooth pairs well and the dvd loads quickly. No slow loading times you usually see from radios in this price range. Local radio stations are crystal clear and distant stations are ..O.K. The only knock on this radio is that the dvd picture resolution is adequate but not great. I also don't believe you can customize the background picture...I would but this radio again and again given the price and the quality. ... show more
