I purchased this wood to burn in my miniature outdoor fire pit. It is advertised for pizza ovens but it’s the perfect length for the fire pit too. The wood was seasoned, split, cut to the length. I didn't look at the size of the box or do the math on 1000 cubic inches before I ordered. I just went by the pic and it didn't register that the logs in the pic were 6" long. This is a tiny box for $45. It may be great wood but even out here in AZ it's about $7 worth of wood. BTW, the box is 10"x10"x10" (1000 cubic inches).

Believe it or not you can’t just put any wood into wood burning pizza ovens. That’s where this beautiful Ranch cooking wood comes in! This wood arrives perfectly dry and ready to use. It smells great, is easy to light, and burns super clean. That’s by far the most important thing with wood for ovens like this. If it’s not properly cured the wood you use could create tons of soot and ash making your oven or fire pit a huge mess. Some would call the way this burns “smokeless”, I don’t know if that’s entirely accurate but the burn is clean and my oven looks no worse after using it. Since I am using this for a pizza oven originally designed for pellets I needed to break this wood up even smaller than it already comes. This was easy to do with a small hatchet though, and still burned for way longer than pellets even in small pieces. I chose to light these by using a small amount of pellets under an open and breathable stack of this wood. Using a torch to start it rather than a fire starter this wood still caught fire easily and stayed lit well. I can’t say you get much flavor from the wood when the pizzas I make cook in about 90 seconds but it cooks beautifully. Other cooking wood you’ll find online is nowhere near as good of a deal as this Ranch wood! You get a huge box of great quality wood at a great value. It is just as good as any other cured cooking wood i’ve tried if not better. I can definitely say it’s pizza oven approved, and should work in your pellet ovens if you break it up!

This box of 6" oak sticks used for different types of cooking is a great resource to add some flavor and aroma into your cooking process. The wood sticks do vary quite a bit in their shape and size so if you are limited in the space available inside whatever device you're using, you may have to cut some of the pieces in order to make them fit. The actual cooking/burning of these sticks do add aroma and flavor onto the food you're cooking in addition to what you're smelling while you're cooking. The wood is super clean (see pics) and burns accordingly. I'm using these sticks in my gas grill to add some more flavor enhancing to whatever I'm grilling at the time - it does accomplish this but do not expect miracles as the additional flavoring will vary depending on many reasons. I've found that I can continue to use unburnt portions on these sticks for subsequent grillings. Additionally, I gave some to my neighbor for their pizza oven - they were a great addition to the cooking process and flavor. - Note: their pizza oven had limited space and they had to cut some of the sticks so they fit inside the oven. Overall a very good product to enhance your cooking adventures but IMO the pricing for this product is very expensive. Great product - high price.

This wood is nicely aged. It burns clean and hot due to the low moisture content. It's also easy to split if you need pieces for kindling because of how dry it is. Most of the pieces are already a workable size and don't need splitting. Their size makes them perfect for outdoor pizza ovens. If you are only cooking one pizza, you'll only need a small amount of wood and this size box will last you for several pizzas. In that regard I think it's a good value for the price. Pizza cooked over fire has such a unique flavor and this wood does enhance that flavor due to how it burns. You don't get a burnt or smoky taste unless you actually burn your pizza. I rate this at 5 stars for quality since the product is very consistent and produces desirable results. I would recommend this for outdoor cooking because it works great to enhance the flavor of your food.

The Ranch Cooking Wood's Mini Oak Sticks are best for my meals if for no other reason than oak burns longer and more evenly than savory blends. Oak smoke is the best. I cook with only wood in an array of table top grills, smokers, and a homemade vertical oven. I build a fire for each item, and I do not use chemicals, paper, gas, or fatlighter to start it. So, for efficiency, my economy and to save time, I try to time the heat for the task. Ranch Cooking Wood's 6 inch firewood gives me the precision burns I need for the best texture and meals.
