I bought this do to my old Walmart brand smoker finally calling it quits after 5 years of use. First things first, this thing is an absolute hog. It’s way heavier than I expected and took both my wife and I giving everything we had just to move the box it came in. Assembly was pretty straightforward but difficult in certain areas due to the way the instructions are laid out. My suggestion is to lay the main unit on its side, assemble the entire base, legs and support then bolt it to the smoker as one piece. It will save you an easy hour of frustration. Did the first burn in and seasoning and it went very well. Took me a few minutes to learn a new app but I gotta say I love the app for this smoker. I also really like the shutdown mode this has, simply choosing power off and letting it cool itself down is pretty sweet. The lid is incredibly heavy and has a really nice gasket to completely seal the smoke in. Overall I don’t think I could be happier with this purchase and plan on buying a pit boss table top pellet grill to go along with this. ... show more

i had a Louisville grill for 5 years and i love it.. but they don't have one that is reasonably priced.. so i looked the Pit Boss, and i love it.. assembly wasn't too bad.. took me about 45 minutes to put together.. love it so far.. :) .. hope to get at least five years .. build solid.. love it.. the durability is very good, good size, and so far love how easy it is to clean ... show more

First a word about the delivery, when the truck driver saw the grill was wifi enabled he informed me that "someone make way too much money". So that was awkward... Now, on to the grill. I just got it, and haven't had a chance to fire it up yet, but based solely on the assembly instructions and prosses, things are not starting on the right foot. I consider myself to be a fairly decent metal worker who is by no means intimidated by "some assembly required", this was a colossal pain in the ass. The instructions were misleading and incomplete. Said it would take 45 minutes, it took more than 3 hours. One illustration suggested standing it on end to attach the legs, you can't lay in on the floor because the leg kick out (it weighs almost 200lbs, how are you supposed to get it off the floor?). Said the only tool needed was a Philips head screw driver, but later some of the screws need an Allan wrench (not included). There are a bunch of blind screw holes in tight spaces that require you to lay on the ground to even see where where the hole is. One of the last pieces to install was missing, I had to call support and order replacement parts. When I called and provided the part number from the manual (the only identifying information I could fine) I was told that didn't help her. It's a very heavy duty grill (much sturdier than the Treiger it replaced) and I'm excited to get some fresh pork on it, but we did not start this relationship off with a good experience. ... show more

I’ve had the smoker for about a month, I smoked baby back ribs, chicken breasts, and burgers. This was my first pellet grill, and I figured I’d start off with ribs. I was a little concerned that I was gonna screw up, but honestly, they were the best ribs I’ve ever had! After I got the grill and got a custom to the app for the Wi-Fi, and getting it burned in for the first time I started on the ribs. I use the 3-2-1 method and these were perfect! I’m not one for slathering with barbecue sauce as I like to let my ribs shine for themselves and I was over the top happy! The grill stayed right on point on temperature for the six hours of cook time. Being that this was my first pellet grill I figured I’d stay on top of the pellets and I really didn’t use that many. The smoke output was perfect as the taste was excellent. Not too much smoke flavor, but I got a good smoke ring. The temperature control was perfect! I’m very satisfied with the durability of this unit. It seems very dirty and uses good quality material. I got the grill assembled and delivered. The only problem I had was when they put it together at the store where I purchased it they failed to put some spacers where they belong and didn’t tighten up some nuts and those came loose and got lost in the delivery process. I called pit boss customer service and they put in an order for an assembly kit and a meat probe that was missing and I had it within four days. All in all I couldn’t be happier! I’m looking forward to my next smoke, which will be a brisket and my mouth waters. Just thinking about it. I honestly feel that you cannot go wrong with this item. ... show more
