It has a great balance of firmness and responsiveness, which translates directly into pace. My third shot drops were fast and aggressive, and my overhead smashes felt significantly more powerful than with my previous paddle. The carbon fiber surface isn't just for control; it seems to give a consistent energy return, meaning the power feels reliable across the entire face, not just in a tiny sweet spot. Built Like a Tank This is where the DGYGQ paddle truly shines for me. The edge guard is robust and holds up beautifully when I accidentally scrape the court retrieving a low ball. Great pickleball paddle for my skill level - really happy with this purchase! I'm around a 3.5 level player and this paddle has been perfect for where I'm at in my game. The weight is spot on at 7.7oz - light enough that my arm doesn't get tired during longer sessions but still feels solid when I make contact. The spin generation is honestly the best feature. I've been able to add way more topspin to my shots, especially my third shot drops and dinks. The carbon fiber face really grips the ball well and lets me shape shots in ways I couldn't with my old paddle. Control around the net has improved a lot too. Those soft touch shots and resets feel much more consistent, and I'm placing the ball where I want it instead of just hoping it goes over the net. The 13mm honeycomb core gives nice feedback without being too harsh. I will say if you're someone who loves to drive balls hard from the baseline, you might want something with more power. This paddle definitely favors finesse over power, but for most rec players like me, that's actually a good thing since it encourages better technique and shot placement. Build quality seems solid. The grip is comfortable and the USAPA approval means I can use it in tournaments when I'm ready for that. For the price point, it's been a really good upgrade from my starter paddle.
