I recently found out I’m allergic to PPD so wanted to try a hair color that didn’t have it. I didn’t read reviews beforehand so I was nervous that the color would be too light as I ordered light golden brown. However, the color is perfect! I am 100% grey/salt & pepper and have issues with covering it all. I think this did great. The first pic is my before; second pic is after I colored and dried my hair; third pic is after my first wash. Some reviews stated how thick it is and I can see that. This brand of hair color is healthier without ammonia and other chemical additives. It gives a more natural color and makes hair soft. No heavy processing smell. Covers grays in 30 minutes. I was so pleased with the outcome. The only thing I didn't like was that it thickened in the applicator bottle so it wasn't fluid enough to come out. So disappointed, this did not cover my gray hair at all. I read the reviews prior to ordering and thought it was going to be great, was completely let down. I don’t see anything amazing about the overall color either. Thought it was overpriced and boy was it ever. Also, was incredibly thick, barely enough to pu on my shoulder length hair, if you have hair beyond your shoulders you will have to buy 2 boxes. ... show more

This is a gentle formula and the scent is fairly mild. I have a sensitive scalp and I am also very sensitive to fragrances. This is not completely unscented, but for a person who typically hates fragrances, the scent does not really bother me. My scalp is not at all irritated which is amazing. My roots are typically color level 4 but I followed the advice of many of the reviews here and I got a level 5. Absolutely perfect! My grays are entirely covered. I'm not intensely gray at this point though, with only about 25% of my roots growing in gray. The results are beautiful and very natural! My advice would be to go UP at least 1 level from the color that you need. Overall, I highly recommend this product and it is now my all time favorite. The product leaves hair soft and shiny. The color is beautiful, but as others have said, much darker than same shades of other brands. My scalp still itched the next day, but during application the product was gentler than any I have used.

The instructions were easy to read. The print is small so you may need glasses or zoom with photo app. There was no chemical smell. While applying the color at times appeared to "dry up" as fast as it could be applied. The color bottle was mixed up a little more and it seemed to help. My hair is very soft which does not always happen right after at home coloring. The final hair color seems 1 to 2 shades darker than what is on the box. This is something to keep in mind. If you have thick hair you will most definitely need 2 boxes. I think I have found my go to at home color. ... show more
