I’ve carried a portable printer for several years to use when I do volunteer work in the field. Overall, it’s a great device for printing temporary documents until I can get back into the office. When I saw this Phomemo printer, I knew I had to check it out. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the construction and weight. The printer has a bit of weight to it and feels very solid. Using it with the Phomemo App is straightforward. You can connect to it directly from a laptop, but I have not tried this yet, as my usage is typically on an iPhone or iPad. Output is very clear, and printing is very fast. The printer is 300 dpi, so prints are super sharp. The only downside is the need to carry thermal paper sheets and load them as needed. My other thermal printer uses roll paper, but it is nowhere near as fast or as clear as this printer. In summary, if you need a portable printer that produces fantastic B&W output, this is a great one to carry. Fast, versatile, and with a big battery for long run times. Highly recommended and definitely worth the price.

We travel frequently, and it still amazes me how many people don't have a printer. Well, I carry this with me everywhere [almost] and when someone needs something printed out - PRESTO - we have a print. What I really appreciate is that I can print from my phone or computer - it connects so easily using the built-in wifi. No drivers needed, nothing complicated - just simply connect to it as a printer and wait 7-10 seconds...the quality is amazing too. At 300 dpi it rivals many console printers. At the time of review, this printer costs just under $240, which if you consider printers these days that have this many features, that work with so many devices, this is a great price - PLUS this one is portable. Plus no ink to run out, leak or spill. Truly a great portable printer.

Phomemo G100 Pro Upgraded WiFi Direct Print Portable Printers, December 2025 I was very impressed with how the printer was packaged. It came in a beautiful box and a includes a sturdy clamshell box for safe traveling. There is more than double the volume of the printer in the clamshell box to accomodate a box of rolled up thermal paper. Unfortunately for me, I prefer to keep paper flat in a folder so this box is much too large for the printer by itself. The paper that arrived with the printer rolled up in the box was somewhat wrinkled. Printing from my phone was easy though I found it necessary to download an app first even though I should have not neededd to. I'm not sure if that was a user, wifi, or printer problem. While there is no mention of it in the Quick Start Guide, if you go to the phomemo web site, there are printer drivers available to enable printing from laptops, as well. It is necessary to use a cable to print from the laptop though. Once connected, it printed as expected. The instruction for inserting the paper into the printer was a bit unclear. It says "Insert the paper with the text side up." I took that to mean the side that should be printed. In fact, I think that was meant to indicate the side of the paper that indicates it's the non-printing side. So, the paper gets inserted with the printing surface down or back. The paper that comes with the printer are individual sheets. There's no mention of whether or not continuous or perforated paper would work with this printer but I see no reason why not. Without a sheet feeder, that would be the only way to print multiple pages without having to feed each sheet by hand. I was surprised when the printer didn't shut itself off after a long period of non-use. I think it would be easy to accidentally leave it on and run down the battery. That said, having it stay on and using wifi connectivity would enable you to be far from the printer to print and if it does take continuous paper, you could print multiple sheets without needing to babysit the printer. The printer itself is smaller than my water bottle and weighs less that the bottle when the bottle is full. This truly is a portable printer. At $240, this is one of the more expensive small travel printers I see listed. I would be hard pressed to justify the price for most users. As I haven't used any of the other similar printers, I'm unable to determine if the printing is significantly better enough for some users to want to pay the extra.
