first read NON APP CONNECTED , it's not a smart lock. If you didn't figure that out from the clear description and are complaining about the lack of features, you are a problem with those of us trying to read / find coherent knowledgeable reviews. Lots of people don't want the internet of things all in their business but have at it if you want the tech behemoths tracking your entering leaving, tying that data into your alarm data, phone, tv , mapping your house and objects video with vacuums, etc. Therefore shockingly enough there is a market for non app connected smart locks. Here's the deal from a long time basic keyless keypad lock user. yes you have to swipe before you can enter a code, takes a bit of getting used to, i'd imagine this allows a *lit* keypad to save battery without all of the false alerts of motion sensors (or requiring a manual button push which is the usual route). Yes it can misregister your touch since there's no physical buttons, physical buttons do not have that tendency but of course they do get wear patterns (though doesn't seem big deal my old kwiksets never got a pattern). All of that is made up for by easy of programming due to the voice prompt, instead of counting beeps,etc...it's 15 minutes to install and super easy to program only matter minutes. Whereas my old ones the batteries lasted so long i'd have to remove the back covers and follow the keypad entries beeps,etc...this is much simpler, you only have to remember the menu code then it voice prompts reads the options. Longevity, weather proofness i can't comment yet, my old non touch kwikset dealt with florida rains pretty easy, we'll see how this holds up, if dies early death i'll be back to edit the review.

Initially we loved this product. It was easy for out teenagers to easily get in and out of our home and we didn’t need to worry about them losing keys. Then after about two weeks it malfunctioned and we were no longer able to lock the door from the outside. It keep saying that the door was unlocked. I’m in the process of returning the item right now.

Es un producto que funciona, trae todos los tornillos y partes necesarias para colocarla, menos herramientas. Si mi take es fácil pero no me.parece suficientemente rigido para una puerta principal. El sistema de montaje trae una parte muy débil y complicada de dejar instalada sin que tenga puntos sueltos. Mucho mejor una Uake en este sentido. Por su precio cumple, pero no la volvería a comprar.

Installation - do-able but challenging. Cable kept getting in way but ultimately complete Interior assembly is attached and fixed in place with sliding tabs; one of which refused to stay in place - result: one side of assembly was loose on door Faceplate and menu - completely electronic. Before any changes could be made (codes, settings), you must wake the lock up by touching it. This was the weak point in that physical contact did not always wake the lock - numerous touches were necessary. Once awakened, hard to be sure the complete (or correct) code was entered. On numerous occasions, I thought the code had been keyed properly, on to have the lock 'tell' me that it was wrong. Yes - the lock has a small speaker and confirms actions and menu choices by voice. Unfortunately, my hearing is a bit deficient and it was often hard to hear. (Installed the lock on interior garage entrance where fairly quiet. If installed on exterior door, outside noise could drown out this lock). Overall, this lock may be okay - it was inexpensive, but I think there are better alternatives - I'm partial to the Yale / August group, more expensive but better quality.
