I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with the 4.3 Vortec with 105k original miles. The original Delphi alternator finally started making awful bearing noise and the voltage regular has failed about 6 months ago. This new alternator is brand new and it is a genuine ACDELCO GOLD part. Installation took me about 30 minutes. There are two bolts, one electrical connector, and a positive wire you gotta remove. It’s super simple. Once you take out the original alternator, make sure to hammer the two metal dowels toward the front of the car on the alternator bracket to make the new part installation easier. The torque spec for the two alternator bolts are 37lb-ft. You can’t mess this up. It only fits one way. The voltage is now perfect with this new alternator, and the car seems to run better with consistent voltage. Great price too! ... show more

    • Almost perfect
I purchased this to replace the factory alternator on a 2000 Chevy S-10 4.3 V6 with over 160,000 miles. With the prices of remanufactured parts often approaching the price of new parts, I decided to pay the slight premium over a rebuilt for a new part. It fit well, but is missing a cast-in boss used to partially support a bracket that holds the heater hoses in position on the Vortec series engines. The bracket also mounts on another part of the engine, so this added boss wasn't really necessary. THe new alternator passed all my load and voltage tests without problems. I hope it goes another 160 thousand miles. ... show more

This alternator is an AC Delco from Mexico. It appears to be good quality. This replaced one that was made in China that lasted a little over a year
