This product SAVED my hair. For reference, my hair is very thin and fine, so it can easily be damaged, especially during the bleaching process. I mixed Step One into my bleach mixture and it made my hair actually stronger, and not a dry tangled mess! When i was done bleaching and toning, I used Step Two before I got in the shower to actually wash up my hair, and let me tell you — I usually shed. A LOT — on a normal basis, and I was fully prepared for the fallout, especially from the whole process I just did. It did the exact opposite! NONE of my hair fell out. Okay, maybe ONE STRAND fell out, but the point is, I didn’t shed at all when washing my hair and it left my hair feeling soft and strong. Step Three is more of just a weekly hair mask, so just think of it as a more intensive Step Two. I always add the LIW pH Plex Steps 1 & 2 to my bleach mixture and toner when doing my monthly hair maintenance, and it makes a huge difference in the health and feel of my hair. Instead of being left dry and brittle after processing, my hair feels stronger, smoother, and far less damaged. The sachets are easy to use—just add Step 1 directly into the bleach or color mixture, then follow up with Step 2 as a treatment after rinsing. I now add this to my lightener instead of using expensive Olaplex. It helps my sensitive scalp immensely! If you can afford both, use both brands. But right now this is all I can afford and it has helped me a lot. Use steps 1&2 once a week with your normal shampoo/conditioner routine to maintain a good ph on your scalp. **EDIT 6/26/22** So after using this for THREE months now, I am still SO thrilled about this product. I can actually brush my bleached hair with no ends breaking off. When I’m doing my dark roots, I add packet 1 to my Shimmer Lights Violet Lightener and use 20 vol developer. After that processes for 30-40 min, I rinse thoroughly. Then I mix packet 2 with Shimmer Lights Plex Treatment and leave that on for 15 min. Then rinse and wash. I recommend a clarifying shampoo & conditioner once a week to remove buildup on the scalp. That’s what was causing some irritation for me. Enjoy! ... show more

I am not a trained cosmetologist but have been highlighting and cutting my own hair at home for about 10 years now. A few months ago I wanted to add more highlights to my hair but I didn’t want to damage it any further so I decided to try this and I’m so glad I did! Step 1 is an additive that you add to bleach or dye before applying it to your hair, and it makes a huge difference in the way your hair feels after processing! I used step 1 of this mixed in with 12 oz Schwarzkopf blondme 9+ lightener and 18 oz of 40 volume developer, used step 2 after rinsing and shampooing the lightener off, toned my hair with Wella color charm, rinsed and shampood that, then used step 3 of this. I let my hair air dry without product and felt that my hair feels significantly less damaged than I would have expected after yet another bleaching and lack of trim in over 6 months. I still have breakage when I brush but my hair doesn’t feel like straw and the curl pattern appears to still be there unlike previous times I’ve bleached! I have used olaplex number 3 leave in before and feel that this stuff might be a good runner up. ... show more

I've been bleaching my hair at home too get it light enough to dye silver and I had been dying my hair black so it took a lot of bleach and my hair was suffering so I bought this after reading reviews and made sure to get step 3 even though nobody mentioned it. Steps 1&2 didn't really do anything but step 3! .... I'm about to run my fingers through my hair!!! I haven't been able to do that since I started bleaching and I've bleached it twice plus did 2 bleach washes! Don't get me wrong... My hairs still fragile but at least it's manageable. Now to find a silver dye that works cause I've tried 2 and they didn't do anything at all. ... show more
