Well, what I MAINLY like is that I already had one just like it. It lasted several years with constant use by my 4 indoor/outdoor cats. Initially I opened a basement window all the way (it opens out) and then fitted a wooden board into the window hole. First of course you gotta measure the cat door and cut the correct-sized hole in the wood, also mark where the 4 screws go. From there, it's pretty easy to install! The 2nd door? Piece of cake! Just had to un-screw and re-screw. The only possible caveat would be: the little swinging door lets in a leeeetle bit of draft which makes a difference in winter...so I carefully reduced the size of the crack with a layer of electrical tape -- very effective, easy, and looks good. The pet door is great! My cat got the hang of it right away. My cat can go in and out the catio whenever he pleases. The only bad thing is that he already broke the lock. :(

    • Door is functional but a little ornery

Installation is a breeze with the right tools. Packaging suggests using a jigsaw, but an oscillating tool is much better for hollow door installations. Once it was installed and level, however, it needed some touching up. The mold seams protrude kind of a lot so the cat was having trouble with it getting stuck. An extra ten minutes with fine grade sandpaper fixed that problem, but the door still doesn’t fully shut every time because it’s so light. If you don’t mind it hanging open, that’s no big deal. Using a wheel weight or two at the bottom gets it to shut, though aesthetically it’s not ideal. The locking mechanism is a little cheesy and difficult to set, as it wants to slip out of position. Honestly, I’m a bit concerned that the Cat might accidentally lock herself on one side of the door if I’m away for the weekend and lose access to food and water, so I might remove the lock altogether. This product seems like an excellent choice as the price is reasonable, but just know it’ll need a little extra love to make it work well. ... show more

Good cat door, easy to install. Both of our large cats had no trouble using the door, however, they did break the door lock a few times. We did have to order another door because of that.

We bought the first one probably 10 years ago, it's installed on a south facing exterior wall that goes into our entry porch. The cats have access to a warm area in the winter, it's also where the outside cat gets fed. The old ones door kept falling off, so I just got the new one and installed it.
