    • You should definitely get it!
I honestly didn’t expect to like this litter box as much as I do, but the PetPivot Open Top Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box has been a total game changer in our house. The open-top design makes a huge difference because my cats adapted to it almost immediately without the usual “what is this alien spaceship?” drama that comes with some automatic litter boxes. The self-cleaning system works surprisingly well and keeps odors under control way better than a traditional box. I also really appreciate the safety features and anti-pinch protection because that was one of my biggest concerns before buying an automatic litter box. It pauses instantly when my cats get near it, which gives real peace of mind. Another thing I love is how accessible it is for older or hesitant cats. The step entrance is low and easy to use, and the open design feels much less claustrophobic than those fully enclosed robot-style boxes. Cleaning the waste compartment is simple, the machine is fairly quiet, and it has saved me so much daily scooping time. If you have multiple cats, senior cats, or just want less litter box stress in your life, this thing is absolutely worth considering.     • Not the litter box for me
I really wanted to like this litter box because the description made it sound super safe and easy to use, but honestly it’s been disappointing. The “simple operation” part is true in the sense that there’s no app, but the actual cleaning performance just isn’t that great. Even with good clumping litter, waste still sticks to the bottom and smears on the inside walls way more than advertised. The delayed cleaning cycle doesn’t seem to help much. I still end up having to scrape and deep clean it constantly, which defeats the whole purpose of buying a self-cleaning litter box. The safety features also feel more like marketing buzzwords than anything impressive. The sensors are overly sensitive sometimes and stop the cycle randomly, but other times it feels slow to react. The step is nice for older cats, but the overall opening still feels awkward depending on the size of your cat. Another issue is the smell control. Since it doesn’t seal waste particularly well, odors build up faster than I expected. Taking it apart for cleaning is easier than some models, but litter and dust still get trapped in seams and around the moving parts. For the price, I expected something much more reliable and lower maintenance. Instead, I feel like I’m still cleaning a litter box almost as often as before, just with extra mechanical headaches added in. ... show more

    • Great automatic litterbox!
So far I love it. I tried petsafe but ended up returning it due to the need for non-clumping litter. The crystals and for some reason non-clumping clay give me headaches, so it just didnt work for us. I love that I can use clumping litter with this one. My cats used it immediately with no issues, I just ordered another as I have 4 cats. Assembly was super easy, the only thing that bothers me is the length of the cord. It's super quiet and the whole reason I picked this litter box is because of the open concept cleaning, I was not planning to try again after petsafe because the round litter robots are unsafe to cats but then I found this one! I also really like the step as one of my cats only has 3 legs so that's helpful to him since the box is kind of high. ... show more

    • Life is less of a poopy mess...yay
It makes it SO much easier. I have been hesitant but also really wanting to try an automatic litterbox because I'm so tired of scooping. After watching video after video on different ones and then reading reviews, the main thing that made me try this one was the fact that it does a partial "roll" and then back to main position, to make sure the "stuff" is covered and clumped properly. Then it waits a few minutes to make sure it has "clumped" and isn't as messy and wet. Then it rolls again, this time the entire way to dump it. That made so much sense to me and sounded like a good idea. Plus, I had seen a family member's other automatic litter box that doesn't do that and it smells and get "stuff" all over it. So we gave it a try. Love it!!! I have barely had to wipe it down. I did one time but I think the cat was having a bit of tummy trouble, so they kind of missed a little...not really the litterboxes fault. It was easy enough to take apart, wipe under it, etc... and put it back together. The main negative I'd see is we have one cat that is a big boy. (almost 20 pounds +/-) I don't know that he can use it very well (we kept a regular XL litterbox out in case a cat didn't want the automatic one and because I just couldn't see him being able to fit and not miss and get it off the sides. Anyway, if this company could make some a little bit bigger with the same type of pre-rolling idea, that'd be awesome!! Thank you for making life less of a poopy mess around here!! ... show more
