I spent HOURS trying to remove a rusty ball joint from my '17 Forester XT. a blowtorch, a sledgehammer, a harbor freight ball joint puller, and a pickle fork were no match for Subaru's front end suspension engineering prowess combined with 8 years of Michigan road salt. this tool had the ball joint out in less than 15 seconds once I figured out how to use it. if you're replacing a ball joint or an entire control arm, please buy this tool. ... show more

W83052 Ball Joint Puller worked like a charm on our 10 year olde (2015) Forester. The product appears to be well made. No instructions included but pretty self evident how it works. Worked well with my impact wrench @ 140 psi. I'd tried every trick in the book trying to get that ball joint out, including a chain & 5 ton floor jack. Wouldn't budge even after marinating in PB Blaster & WD40 for a week. I had to use, & recommend, a grinder to clean out the knuckle to accept the new ball joint. ... show more

If your having to beat this tool out of shape to separate a ball joint or tie rod....then you need to invest in wd40, or a good penetrating oil and let the joint soak, because this tool works quite well, my only gripe is, the handle may be too long for small working spaces....even then, you can cut it down to fit for your needs if your handy.....it may be too wide for small joints, but it works good for half ton suv's trucks, full size cars etc....I give it a very solid 4 stars! ... show more
