  • Solid kit!
Style: Optimized Adapter Set
Worked for a rear wheel bearing/hub on a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350. Seems like a solid kit for the price. I purchased kit 37342.

  • 99 accord rusted wheel hub/bearing
Style: Kit
Worked flawlessly on a 99 accord, rusted wheel hub and bearing came out like nobody's business. Product instruction material was very clear on how to properly use tool, and straightforward. Tool construction felt pretty beefy, unlike others I've used (suppose u get wat u pay for). One thing is clear, don't use an impact as the thrust bearing will fail sooner than intended, bearing is probably not rated for that kind of abuse. (Although, u can and could work, but manual says not to per manufacturer instructions). Hub extraction: Was super easy, the need for swearing wasn't required or needed, nothing but joy. Bearing extraction: The key here is to ensure when using this tool, take ur time in lining it up straight and level before u start cranking on it (be patient, it'll be worth it). This is the part that took some learning, having to use the horseshoe adapters (d,e or f). It definitely helped in providing a solid backing for the tool to rest on the knuckle and align it for bearing extraction. Used a 3ft breaker bar attached to socket, once u break the initial contact and hear the popping sound as the bearing comes out, u can switch to a 1/2in ratchet and you're home free from there (literally 10 minutes) out it went. Looking back the hardest part was removing that darn C-clip, was rusted in there purty good. On a side note I did try tool with an impact, and it worked pretty darn well. Just know that continued use in this way will surely end up replacing thrust bearing sooner than expected. ... show more

  • Stupid fast and well built. Would have paid more for this quality.
Style: Kit
Wow. Just wow. I work in a shop and I have at my disposal a large press, a full set of old school impact style wheel bearing press tools and whatever hammers and pieces of lumber one might need to get the job done. Then I loaned my press to a fellow mechanic and he ruined the threads and refused to replace it. As you can imagine, this did not go well for him, but I digress. I had to buy a new impact style press and jumped to Amazon to see what I would have to fork out. I stumbled on this OEM set and read reviews. I watched the videos and then checked out more videos on YouTube. I decided to give it a go and see what happened. I purchased this set and almost immediately upon arriving, I landed a wheel bearing job on a very rusty Chevy. That bearing looked like it was going to be a huge pain to get out, but I muddled my way through the directions until everything began to make sense. I assembled the necessary components and to my amazement, it smoothly pulled out the hub. A moment later, I reconfigured and it smoothly pulled out the bearing. My impact hardly broke a sweat. A few minutes later, I reconfigured the set once more and without any effort, centered the bearing in the knuckle, and pressed it right in. One more part swap later and the hub was in, as well. All in all, the process took about 30 minutes, with the knuckle still attached to the vehicle, including reading directions. I have never used anything so smooth, and well built to so quickly do this job. For a mechanic on flag time, this tool is a must! ... show more

Hello, I bought this kit to change the wheel bearings on a 2014 Mercedes C300. The claim is that you can do it while the knuckle is still in the car, this would have been very hard for this car and i did not try. The process is two steps 1. pull the hub from the inner race of the bearing. 2. pull the bearing from the knuckle and reverse to install. Make sure you grease the threads. (use high pressure grease). You will have a strong urge to use an impact.. don't. ( I did use an impact to pull the hubs into the new bearings , breaking my rule) Removal: 1. Pulling the hub from the bearing is less difficult of the two , but still the included thrust bearing failed on the first pull (its the picture). I used extra thick flat washers with grease as a temporary fix (I bought an INA AKL.D7 thrust bearing as a replacement) Using the U-collar and some shims I was able to get purchase on the knuckles to pull the hubs. (rear are a bit easier as the bearing assemblies bolt into the knuckles) . the kit instruction graphics show the hub being pulled direct by the puller nut, don't do this use a puller plate or you can damage your splines. (at least for mine) 2. The OD of the C300 bearing (front) is 90mm the kit does not have a sleeve that large, but I had one from another kit to pull the bearing into. Clean the exposed knuckle bore where the retaining ring sits. heat the knuckle with propane. I put the knuckle in a bench vice to hold it while cranking the bearings out It took a lot of force to pull the bearing (big guy pulling hard on a 3 ft pipe on a breaker bar) The puller did not show any signs of abuse. Installation: Watch your alignment.... 2. The kit did not have a puller plate large enough to pull on the out race of the new bearings (about 85mm or so) I used the puller sleeve (part "U") as the pressing ring. Because it was too large for the bore I turned it down a bit on a lathe. Always pull on the race getting pressed, don't transfer the force from the inner to the outer race. Going in was a bit easier than pulling out. 1. Pulling the hubs in went pretty easy. Be careful to pull from the inner race of the bearings or it will risk popping apart... watch your splines. Good luck, ... show more

  • Bolt and nut not compatible at all. Can’t even screw by HAND
Style: Kit
Bought this last year of November and I end up using it for the first time last week. Turned out to be a disappointment since the bolt and nut didn’t seem to screw in together smoothly. I couldn’t even screw the nut into the bolts by hand. Literally had to use a ratchet and by the time the bolt was fully screwed into the nut. Each rotation required a lot of effort. Checked the thread pitch. They’re both different. Hopefully their warranty pulls through with a replacement. Review will be updated as soon as I get a response… Update: lack of communication is horrible. It’s literally taking them too long to get an update on my claim.
