Not only did it almost take almost 2 months to get, Because the first order was canceled for no apparent reason, After I re-ordered it, the shipment kept getting delayed when it showed up the nice green box that it was almost all cracked like it had been through a war, Total waste of time piece of junk if you look in the pictures that’s a Dodge 1500, It would not press the ball joints out the tool kept bending and popping off. What a piece of crap one problem is there’s no cup that fits the race on the ball joint so one cannot get a straight press because this thing is inadequate subpar, Total waste of money and time I am very angry. I spent two weeks thinking that I was doing something wrong, but I remembered not only have I done a dozen of these on all sorts of vehicles mostly on Dodge. Pick ups it’s tool that’s a piece of crap!!!

I have nothing but praises for this product. I bought this to change my upper ball joints on my 2001 Toyota Tundra. I took a chance to get the 21pc set thinking that it probably has the needed adapters and receivers to do the job as the Tundra needed special cups and receivers to remove and install ball joints. Upon arrival the unit was pristine and even came in a box. It had all the adapters and receivers that I needed to do the job on a 22 year old truck which I don't know if the upper ball joints were even replaced before. The C-Clamp and cups was sturdy and removed the old one and installed the new ball joint without a problem. Just make sure to use a lot of grease on the threads and it will work smooth as butter. I even used this to remove and install new bushings for my steering rack. Great value for money and works like a charm. If you are a DIYer like me, this ball joint press is an absolute necessity.

Back story, 2013 Jeep Wrangler, resides in a dry climate, owned since new, stock vehicle. Like other reviews stated the booklet wasn't for the product that was purchased. So a bit of a slow start but was able to push out both upper ball joints fairly quick once I watched a YouTube video to see which components to use. Moved to the lower two and that is when it all went bad. Didn't just pop out like the top two after tightening the c-clamp. Sprayed both with pentraiting oil, let them soak a bit while I went back to YouTube to see other ideas on stuck ball joints and finally broke them free. However, the c-clamp wasn't able to hold up to the torque and bent while removing them. This was after 5+ hours of trying to work them free, just the bottom 2. With the bent c-clamp, could not install any of them straight! So I ended up driving the hour to town to rent one from the local retail chain of auto part stores. Was able to finish the project, 2 days later and then returned the kit to the auto parts store. If I knew this would have happened, I would have borrowed the kit in the first place and saved myself the $ for a kit that is now useless and the additional delay in completing the project. Thought it was a good idea to have the kit around just incase I need to replace ball joints again on another vehicle. Might be a fine kit to replace ball joints on a newer vehicle. If the c-clamp was replaced I would give a higher rating knowing the kit could be used again but I won't spend any more money on this companies proelducts. See bent c-clamp on top and straight one on the bottom.

I rarely write reviews but after using this ball seal press I feel compelled to offer some commentary to balance out some of the negative feedback that others have tagged it with. First off, you get what you pay for and this press is clearly not marketed to or intended for the professionals in our world that use Snap-On and other high-end tools on a regular basis. This is not a press that is going to hold up for every-day use but it functioned superbly for the intended use I purchased it for --pressing a lower ball joint into the control arm of a 20 year old Honda Accord. I might use it again in a few years but the reality is that it's going to get called into service on infrequent basis and that's all I need. I don't know how some of the folks leaving feedback managed to bend a tool like this because it is very stout but I imagine for one reason or another they were applying a serious amount of torque into the clamping mechanism and went beyond the capability of it's design.

First off, the booklet that comes with this product is useless! it was for a completely different set so looking up your make and model don't waste your time. Secondly if you don't have at least some working knowledge of using a ball joint kit the directions are all but non existence, however I have used them many times so use was not a problem for me, I'm not a novice. Thirdly, the cups are a little bit on the soft side they will warp or distort if not perfectly aligned in particular if you have a more stubborn ball joint to remove (i.e. such as my case). On the positive side the threaded rod is very strong and runs true the "C" clamp also seems to be very well built it really stood up to some serious pressure without a hiccup, and this set inserted the press fit joint very nicely with the use of a little anti-seize and some light sanding with a 400 grain Emory cloth. All this being said if you are having doubts bite the bullet and spend the extra money for a upgraded kit or rent one, I am not sure if I can reuse one particular receiving cup again if needed. I have rated this in the middle because it's performance to re-install was flawless but removal left a lot to be desired. So think hard before your purchase and don't even consider it if you plan to do all the work with air tools (I.E. impact wrenches) it will not take that punishment for sure.
