  • Cheaper and just as effective as the large tie rod tool sets
Love how small and useful this tool is. Much cheaper than those tie rod tool sets. If you are only doing this job a few times, this tool is more than enough. The threads on this tool did not strip and I was able to use it to both take out and install the tie rods on my car.

  • Worked perfectly for inner tie rods. No issues.
This tool helped me get inner tie rods off on 2007 Audi A4 2.0T. Center it around inner tie rod section right next to the part that screws into the outer tie rod. Tighten the two nuts on the tool snuggly. They don't need to be real tight. Add multiple 3/8 or 1/2 extensions with adapter to come out past the wheel well. Broke the inner tie rods loose with some moderate force applied. I used them to help tighten up the new ones too. Had nothing but a good experience with this little $13 tool. Sure beats trying to use a 38mm crows foot or something. "BeerWrench Garage" youtuber recommended this tool, and he was right. ... show more

  • Never used it, but appears to be great quality. Still have it in the case 😂
Purchased this for my 2013 ford escape which unfortunately the engine and transmission went out so I never got to use it. But it’s heavy and seems to be great quality.

  • Easy to use tool for inner tie rods
This tool is very easy to use and effective. There's many options to remove inner tie rods. None are perfect and they don't all work in every situation. This is one of the many tools to do the job and it's cheap and effective most of the time. Keep the threads greased and clamp down evenly. I'd recommend this tool ... show more

  • It works
Somewhat difficult to get in place but worked exactly as described. I found the easiest way to use it is to remove the outer tie rod and boot, then slide this over into place tighten down and break the inner tie rod loose. Easy enough and inexpensive. I live in the country, so I didn't want to borrow from town then have to take it back when done. For $10 delivered to my door this was a good alternative for me. ... show more

  • Just the tool for the job!
I tried three times to remove my inner tie rod to no avail. I used the long cylinder tool, a large wrench and even vice grips and none of them would get it to budge. So I did some research online and found this type of tool seemed to work for many people. I checked at Autozone, O'Reilly's and NAPA and none of them had this tool. So I was lucky to find it available on Amazon for under $20 so I gave it a try. It's pretty easy to get the tool on the inner tie rod, you can see on my photo the outer tie rod is already removed. In theory you could remove the inner tie rod with the outer tie rod attached to it if it is detached from the control arm, but it is way easier to do it once the outer tie rod is removed. Just remember to count the number of turns it takes to remove the outer tie rod then when you put it back on turn it the same number of times. Once I got the tool on the inner tie rod I tightened the two nuts, I believe they were 14mm. Then I took my 3/8 ratchet with a short 3in extension and turned it and with just a little bit of effort it turned! I was so happy this tool worked because it would have been a huge expense to have a shop replace the tie rods if I couldn't do it myself. Even if I never have to change another inner tie rod this one time purchase was well worth the time and money saved. ... show more

  • Worked like i hoped!
Honestly didn't expect this to work since I saw mixed reviews. But, this worked great on my inner tie rods on my 2014 camaro. Was able to get them loose without much issue, and the was with my car just on Jack's stands and me laying under the car !
