  • Heavy Duty Tool
Works like a charm. I was tired of renting inner tie rod removal tool so I picked this up to test. So far this has removed everything I've tried it on. Ford, VW, Mazda, Toyota, hyundai, Honda Etc. Great addition to my tools.

  • Just the tool for the job! Just the tool for the job!
I tried three times to remove my inner tie rod to no avail. I used the long cylinder tool, a large wrench and even vice grips and none of them would get it to budge. So I did some research online and found this type of tool seemed to work for many people. I checked at Autozone, O'Reilly's and NAPA and none of them had this tool. So I was lucky to find it available on Amazon for under $20 so I gave it a try. It's pretty easy to get the tool on the inner tie rod, you can see on my photo the outer tie rod is already removed. In theory you could remove the inner tie rod with the outer tie rod attached to it if it is detached from the control arm, but it is way easier to do it once the outer tie rod is removed. Just remember to count the number of turns it takes to remove the outer tie rod then when you put it back on turn it the same number of times. Once I got the tool on the inner tie rod I tightened the two nuts, I believe they were 14mm. Then I took my 3/8 ratchet with a short 3in extension and turned it and with just a little bit of effort it turned! I was so happy this tool worked because it would have been a huge expense to have a shop replace the tie rods if I couldn't do it myself. Even if I never have to change another inner tie rod this one time purchase was well worth the time and money saved. ... show more

  • Easy to use tool for inner tie rods
This tool is very easy to use and effective. There's many options to remove inner tie rods. None are perfect and they don't all work in every situation. This is one of the many tools to do the job and it's cheap and effective most of the time. Keep the threads greased and clamp down evenly. I'd recommend this tool ... show more

  • Never used it, but appears to be great quality. Still have it in the case 😂
Purchased this for my 2013 ford escape which unfortunately the engine and transmission went out so I never got to use it. But it’s heavy and seems to be great quality.

  • Great with slight mod. Great with slight mod.
Use aluminum foil to snug against any gaps, very tight but don’t over tighten and retighten as you go. If you’re not careful, you will strip metal. I used impact gun to loosen old tie rod and was very easy compared to install. Getting it tight to 100 nm was a pain with spinning until I added aluminum foil. Works great for $11 vs $100 tool. ... show more

  • Works as stated on my silverado half ton Works as stated on my silverado half ton
Worked good, have a GMT900 silverado half ton. This gripped right on to the inner tie rod for both removal and installation. Remember to use blue threadlocker on the threads that go in to the steering rack. I had a little bit of fluid dripping out of the rack so I made sure to wipe that dry before threading the new inner tie rod in. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly for inner tie rods. No issues.
This tool helped me get inner tie rods off on 2007 Audi A4 2.0T. Center it around inner tie rod section right next to the part that screws into the outer tie rod. Tighten the two nuts on the tool snuggly. They don't need to be real tight. Add multiple 3/8 or 1/2 extensions with adapter to come out past the wheel well. Broke the inner tie rods loose with some moderate force applied. I used them to help tighten up the new ones too. Had nothing but a good experience with this little $13 tool. Sure beats trying to use a 38mm crows foot or something. "BeerWrench Garage" youtuber recommended this tool, and he was right. ... show more
