  • [APPLICATION]: The ball joint separator is used for separating the ball joint from the spindle support arm on front wheel drive vehicles, both domestic and import.
  • [QUALITY]: This set comes with a one piece alloy steel construction that ensures durability and strength to withstand the heavy duty hammering force transferred to automotive attachments in your home garage or work.

  • [DURABLE]: The heat-treated tapered fork smoothly separates ball joints and slips in between the ball and housing, which makes it easy for maintenance tasks and automotive repairs on most car vehicles.

  • Great tool every mech/tech needs
Style: Pickle Fork Set
So far the tools have been working flawlesly. If you are struggling with a ball joint double check the size is correct and that you are hitting it properly, sounds dumb but if you dont hit it right you wont make progress and it will feel like these arent working.

  • Bubble flares made easy
Bought this to do ONE bubble flare on a new brake line we made for my son's F150, The 6' long line was a double flare at one end and a bubble flare on the other end. Could not find any bubble flare kits for "loan" by local parts stores. The ones offered for sale appeared to be cheap/flimsy. With Prime, this kit arrived the next day and cost less than the part store models. Works like a charm. I only needed it to make one bubble flare but never having done one before, I did a series of practice ones first. Every one a winner. We were using it on the nickle/copper 3/16" brake line we got on Amazon. Used for his truck and had zero leaks. Follow the directions, watch a couple of videos on YouTube and you'll do fine. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! It is not necessary and my son had borrowed a double flare kit we could not use because it had been over tightened by its owner which bent and "tweaked" the tool so it was not usable at all. We were able to get a "loaner" kit at AutoZone for the double flares. This kit seems much better quality than you would expect for the price. I have no problem recommending it. I cannot speak to its durability as we only did about a dozen flares but I think if you treat it right, could last for years. P.S. This kit is metric (normal for bubble flare kits) we used it on 3/16" line which is 4.75mm. Worked GREAT! ... show more

  • Perfect for DIY & home mechanics
Perfect for home mechanics or DIY. With NO previous experience, my "practice" flares were nearly perfect and symmetrical, good enough to actually use. Built to tighter specifications than other cheap kits. This one is actually VERY good for the price. Plenty of clamping force - enough to mar the tubing, which is a good thing because you can always dial it back to reduce marring, vs. other cheap tools that let the tubing slip. Flares come out very even and well formed. Effort is moderate with good feedback. Seems durable enough for fairly regular use. Clamping force is just a bit uneven and at this price it would be nice to see standard and US double (inverted) flare tips, but overall a very good buy. ... show more

  • 1994 GMC k2500 6.5 turbo diesel
Style: Pickle Fork Set
I used these to change the inner and outer tie rods ends and adjusters on both sides connecting the center drag link with the idler arm and bracket to the link and the pitman arm to the steering gear box to the link, The studs on the idler arm and pit man arm was seized to the center link... i used these to beat the beep beeep beeep beeeep out of them with my trusty 4 pound husky hammer never had to use a full size sledge on them yet but i am sure they would take it, they took quite a few heavy blows over and over and over repeatedly until i finally was able to take a 3 foot pry bar and wedge it between the pickle fork and put all the pressure i could with my body weight on the fork to pop that pitman arm stud free. I wouldn't have been able to do it with out them, They are a good cheap set that will get the job done for the price, Looking forward to beating them to death for the rest of their life i don't feel like i buggered the hammer side ends up to bad from hamming on them so they will most likely be used over and over again they can be hit hard and the fork heads held up great. they work going give them a 5 star because i know how much work they saved me lol. ... show more

  • Quality tool
Judging by the grains of the metal, I’m pretty sure this whole set is metal injection molded. Nothing inherently wrong with that, as it’s becoming increasingly common, especially in power tool gearboxes and other applications in which the complexity of the various components means machining would be imperatively expensive. If I’m being completely honest, the metal doesn’t look or feel especially durable, but then consider that this tool is just for squeezing/winding caliper pistons back. It’s not exactly an intense application. If you were to break or damage this tool in use, you’re either really stupid and doing something horribly wrong or there’s a much more significant issue elsewhere, most likely a ceased caliper piston. Keep in mind some caliper pistons aren’t designed to be wound, even if they have the little slots to accommodate a winding action. In such a case, they’ll just bind up and not retract. The opposite is also true, some pistons will bind with a linear compression force and require winding much like a bolt. Make sure to try an adapter that does and does not result in a winding action. If neither work, make sure the vehicle doesn’t require some weird procedure you’re not privy to. I honestly can’t see a practical situation in which this tool would break, so if you manage to pull it off maybe consider having someone else, someone with an ounce of competence, repair and maintain your vehicle. Final note, there are other kits with more adapters out there. I chose this one because Nieko is generally considered a decent brand so I figured it was “safe.” Make sure it has the adapter you actually need before you buy it. ... show more

  • Handle was fixed at both ends
The T-handle was fixed at both ends making it impossible to insert the thrust bolt assembly through the plate. I used a 1/4" drill to remove one of the ends of the T-handle. I then used a thick Phillips head screwdriver that just fit through the hole (this gave greater leverage and was more comfortable) for turning the screw part. I can't understand how this manufacturing error occurred. Either I was extremely unlucky or a lot of the people trying to use the set gave up and couldn't be bothered to write a review or comment. Once I could use the set as shown in the photograph, it was easy. I just tried out various calipers until I found one that fit my 2004 Maxima. Build quality is fine for light work and the carrying case is neat and easy to use. ... show more
