Very cute when assembled which I had to do alone so tricky hand screwing all those screws and balancing screens/doors etc. There were a LOT of screws but labeled in individual bags very clearly -- just pay attention to the sequence of steps. It is much smaller than I had hoped but I have 5 pullets in there now and growing into it at 8 weeks but will have to move a couple out later. It can really only support 3 - maybe 4 max but 2 is best. Very cute though and I like the roof. Is great value for money and sits under my apple tree next to another coop. I live at the coast of Oregon so will have to weatherproof it in the fall for the winter rains and storms that last til spring. That will be also when they will most likely start egg laying. What I wish it had was a roost bar on the inside somewhere so they could use the vertical space since tiny footprint underneath. I used a branch from the apple tree for now. They like to hop up there and peer out to the world and also catch bugs in the rafters. I also put down some felt planters I had in black that fit sideways into the nest boxes which added some insulation and cozy sit areas for nesting later. I put pine shavings inside that which acts as liner. I will have to rig one section to accept a much longer chicken run on the A Frame side which will allow more room to run and may not have to move the 5 if so. Will see but that is why I gave it 4 stars. If it had been even just 4 feet longer - would have made a great difference. ... show more

This coop is super easy to put together. Very clear instructions and pre drilled holes. It is pretty sturdy and it looks super cute! Perfect for starting out with babies. After ours get a little bigger, we will tie it in to our big chicken run. Nesting boxes is roomy and the coop size is big enough for 2 full size hens. I wish it was a little bigger but it’s perfect for what I needed it for and the price was good. I would buy again ... show more

    • A cute little coop for growing chicks or quarantining.

This coop is adorable, with many nice features. First thing's first, it is not a good long-term choice for adult chickens, and the run is not sufficient for birds. However, this is a very common issue with these premade coops in general. I have added a run extension onto the side of this coop and use it only for brooding chicks, quarantining new birds, and as a recovery ward for recovering birds. Just give it a deep cleaning between occupants of course! Assembly was easy and straightforward. Each piece is clearly labeled and my husband and I built it in less than two hours. I added "foil bubblewrap" insulation stapled inside, personal preference. Will it last forever? No, it will probably last me a few years if I repaint it every spring. It isn't strong enough to keep any large predators out, but again, it was bought a temporary housing solution kept near the house in a secure area. ... show more

This will be an excellent chicken hospital for us. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is due to the roof holes being drilled improperly for the alignment but thankfully I have a crafty husband and he redrilled properly and we plugged the improper holes with grommets and screws but otherwise this will serve its purpose. ... show more
