This is perfect for my two chinchillas! It gives them loads of space, including plenty of room for their 16" wheel, their dust bath, food container, and water bottle! The bottom tray is also a nice depth for aspen shavings, so I won't have to change it out as often <3 It also seems super sturdy, the wheels roll well, and the opening side panels make it SO much easier to do stuff inside than the old cage. It also gives them plenty of space to stay apart if they're mad at each other. My only complaints are the following: -The bottom tray is plastic, so I'll need to keep an extra close eye and make sure they don't chew it open. -There's nothing below the tray, so if I take it out, I'll need to put them in a carrier or something so they can't get out. -The hammock that comes with it is very cheap plasticky fabric, with fabric straps instead of chain. I didn't use it because I'm worried they'll just chew the straps, and while it would clean easily if they peed, it just doesn't look comfy for them. -The ramps are really slick and the ridges aren't very defined, so I couldn't separate the shelves as much as I would have liked. I was worried the openings wouldn't be open enough for them to reach the next levels! -The shelf pieces don't fully press together, and leave some wiggle room, even when putting 3 next to each other (the full width of the cage). Luckily, they don't snap back together, so no feet should be stuck or injured. ... show more

Bought it for my pet rats, but it's so big and spacious it would work for any medium to larger rodent, ferret, guinea pig, chinchilla, etc. It went together in about 30 minutes, and the only problem I had The parts are a bit confusing because none of them are labeled. that's where most of the time spent putting it together came from, cross referencing parts to pictures of them to make sure I had the right one. All in all its definetly a good sturdy cage, my mother is getting one for herself because the size and price is perfect for her birds, she says if she takes out the platform levels and puts in bird stuff it'll be perfect for her cockatiels, and much cheaper than anything officially "for birds". I love that the one side is doors that fully open for easy access to clean or add decorations ... show more

One of the shelves was broken and some of the screws would not go into the fitting all the way so we had to use zip ties to make it more secure. But it seems like the rats like the more space they have.

I just got this & had it set up today (Jan, 24,2023). I bought it on the 20th & it arrived in 4 days with everything it's supposed to come with. The instructions were clear, had good pics, & took my husband about 30 mins to build. If you're getting this for a ferret, it looks like you might need to put grip tape down or covers for the ramp so it can get up & down. I dont have mine yet so i dont know for sure yet. The wheels work well & have locks. The doors all open & shut. The latches are decent but i may get something for better security. I also have kids so thats why.. It's very spacious & plenty of room for 2 ferrets. I wouldn't put in more than 2 although I'm sure you could. This seems to be a good cage. Others reviews say this cage is great all around for it's price & that it holds their animal without fail so I'm hoping that's true too. The only problem I have is that fed ex smashed my cage during transport and some of the panels & bars are bent. The damage is so minimal that I'm not going to bother w contacting anyone. If you're out shopping for a new cage, I hope my review helps you. ... show more

A few problems. 1... it is complicated to assemble and the directions are not overly helpful. For example, the directions tell you to connect the front and back panel with the bars with the screws 1st and then add the wheels. Nope. The wheels have to go in before the screws because one screw holds a panel, bar and wheel together. I can usually look at pictures when the written directions aren't clear but the pictures on the paper are too small to be helpful. The parts don't always fit together nicely. Example...where the holes are drilled for screws, the metal is pushed inside the tube that you have to slide the other piece into which made it really hard to connect them. 2. It's missing half of one of the latches for the side door. The holes are there for it but the piece isnt there. We rigged it up and contacted the seller to see if we can get the piece sent to us. Hopefully they answer buy if they don't the cage is still functional. We just won't be able to use that door. Also the bars that you pinch together to open the front doors are REALLY "flimsy" which is kind of good because it makes it easy to open. Unfortunately, one of them was so flimsy that it broke off within an hour of putting it together. The bottom tray makes me a bit nervous because it isn't exactly tightly secured but I think it will be ok. My only other concern is that some of the bars came bent which makes me worry about how well it will hold up but again, I think it will be ok. Having said all of that, it came quickly and our chinchilla seems to absolutely LOVE it. It's the perfect size with lots of places for her to hide and play and it looks like it will be relatively easy to clean. Based on all of that and the price, I would still recommend this cage. ... show more
