Looks great, works well, puts out a lot of heat, and can't beat the price for all that. Bonus points for East Oak’s customer service: two years after I bought the heater, the base started rusting and became unstable. I reached out, and within 24 hours they replied and sent a free replacement part. The warranty is legit. Only gripe is the blue protective film on the reflector- it’s a pain to remove and takes about 30 minutes to get it all off. I also wish it felt a bit more sturdy. Tightening the bolts helps, but I was nervous about over-tightening and breaking something. That said, it’s stable enough that I’m not actually worried about it tipping over, just the pole can look like it's not perfectly perpendicular to the ground at times, which repositioning it slightly will solve. I Wouldn’t trade the portability for more weight/sturdiness though- super easy to move around (as long as the propane tank’s out), which is a big win. Overall very happy with it. ... show more

I honestly wasn’t expecting to be this impressed, but WOW. The patio heater works amazingly well (more on that below). However, after a couple of months of use, it would no longer ignite so I had to call customer service for help and they sent a replacement part. After receiving the replacement part from East Oak, my patio heater is working better than it ever has. It heats up quickly, distributes warmth evenly, and the flame is strong and consistent. I hosted a dinner party the same night I got it set up, and every single guest commented on how cozy and comfortable the space was—even with chilly temps outside. But what really blew me away was the customer service. East Oak followed up to make sure everything was perfect, and their team was warm, responsive, and genuinely cared about my experience. This kind of service is so rare these days—it felt like I was dealing with a high-end concierge team. If you’re on the fence, don’t be.     • Very well made or so I thought, but stopped working after 10 weeks. Ignitor fails to operate

Updating my review. The burner unit stop igniting. Contacted Eastoak (go through support and emails). Eastoak came through. They sent me a replacement burner assembly. The heater is working fine. /////////////////////////////////////////// Assembly was a snap. Manual is excellent. (Only thing I would recommend to East Oak is to make some i mages larger). All holes aligned very well. No pushing or hammering required. I spent more time removing the protective coating from top aluminum skirt, and the base cover that houses the propane cylinder. It lit up right away. Very pleased with the product. Yesterday I installed the reflector panels.I have some observations.I recommend that the support bracket should be provided with SLOTS instead of HOLES to attach them to the screws that support the top burner assembly. It becomes very difficult to align the bolts correctly (you have to remove 2 to attach the support bracket). I struggled. Ended up with attaching only one side of that bracket. another observation is that there could be DOWEL pins provided at the pipe joints for perfect alignment. I see that there is a PLAY in the scres, and the vertical alignment can be slightly off, and becomes noticeable because of the long vertical structure of the torch. Thank youAlhad Joshi ... show more

This unit replaced a commercial heater I picked up used several years ago. That unit had a concrete material for a base and some type of foam block that absorbed heat, along with a similar metal heat reflector. It was mainly used on my deck with two chairs underneath, one for myself and the other for my wife. Over the years the concrete block failed and crumbled and the unit just became a hassle to clean each year with the spiders laying their eggs in the gas jet nozzle. This unit is not commercial, but it emits more than enough heat to keep us warm at night, or for that early morning coffee outside. Right now it’s in the upper forties and lower fifties in Connecticut, and with a sweatshirt and sweatpants, I’m perfectly toasty at 4:30am. I don’t even have the unit fully cranked - maybe 3/4 turned. The base is not as heavy, so I am concerned about those really windy days or major storms. I filled the base with water, but maybe I should try sand. Of course a full propane tank will add some weight too. It has a wheel base, so it’s easier to move than my commercial unit which had no wheels. Assembly took less than an hour, and it didn’t require any additional parts or extra materials by me to secure the pieces. Everything it came with was sufficient to put this thing together. I recommend a power drill, and maybe a small socket wrench to really get the bolts tight. It comes with those cheap wrench tools that will do the job, but you’ll need some muscle to use them. Hardest part was assembling the heat shield, only because it’s a metal circle reflector cut into three parts most likely to make this whole unit fit into a large box. It’s a pretty big heat reflector. Plastic on the heat reflector was a pain, but it’s like that to avoid scratching. Don’t know why… the unit is 7ft tall. That’s pretty standard height. My commercial unit was just as tall. Really, the difference here is the commercial unit had less assembly, so there are less tension points. Whereas this unit fits into a large 3x4 box, so you’re assembling the long tube in two pieces instead of one solid piece. I have the bronze model which looks pretty nice. For what you pay, it’s definitely worth the value. If it’s last five years, I’ll be happy. I don’t plan on covering it or taking it inside during the winter. ... show more
