I like this pet door. My two cats are getting the hang of it. I like that they can go in & out with me having to keep opening and closing the door. I wish the door was less dense but its weight helps it stay in the closed position. I don't use the lock feature because it confuses them. In their head, the door stops working and they don't try to use it once it's again working. I may just pin a square of thick material over the cat door when I don't want them to go out but still want the glass door open. Reason for purchase: One of my cats tore a hole in the bottom left corner of the screen to get back into the house. So before going to buy a metal screen sliding door, I figured I could try out this door. It's working well so far.

It works ok and looks cute. But, we had a very hard time installing it. Missing 2 bolts. The bolts and nuts are EXTREMELY tiny. So tiny and hard to grip. We're handy people. My husband is a fine woodworker and I'm crafty and good with tools. This thing was ridiculous to install and we almost didn't get it accomplished after cutting a hole in the screen. It ended up a bit crooked because once we got it attached we were not going to undo anything to fix it and risk having to start over. It's cute, but I would never do it again.

We recently moved and our indoor kitty no longer has an upper balcony he can get some outside time on. We have created a "kitty condo" out on our patio but didn't want him to start associating going out with our back door so placed it in front of the window and this allows kitty to come and go through there when the window is open. It has taken him a bit to get used to this new set-up (still hasn't figured out how to open the kitty-door but we are there to help him for now) but it is working well. Our kitty is also "big boned" and still fits through it without too much trouble. The gap around the door is big enough that some determined little flying bugs can make it through, but mostly it does a great job and was easy to install. The locking latches are a bit stiff and our screen is not and this makes it difficult to latch the kitty-door but since it's in the window this isn't a problem as we just close the window. Update: I'm struggling to get the screws tight enough to keep the screen in place

This cat door was pretty easy to assemble. The door itself is a bit heavy so I was worried about how that would affect the screen but I also but it in the bottom portion of my window screen as an entry door to my cats catio outside. I like that I can lock it as an added safety feature and it opens and closes easily enough for my cats to use it.
