A magnet was loose in packaging and had to take it apart and glue it back in. Outer plastic is very cheap and soft. Overall as a $20 product. It works great. After having to shove my cat through it a few times. He learned to use on the same day.

Got this kitty door for my cats to access their new catio! Cats are 9 lbs and 17 lbs so both cats can easily use this it is a good size for both of them. It was easy to install and does not let outside wind into the house, it seems very weatherproofed. Its only flaw is that after the cats go in and out for a few days, at least once a week they accidentally step on or brush against the red lock on the bottom of the kitty door. This has led to the cats being trapped outside of the house because the door accidentally locked so they can only exit but not enter. On the one hand its nice to know that if I lock it other animals cannot push their way in, however it can be 100 + degrees outside and I don't want my cats stuck outside. (Besides, this is an enclosed catio so literally only my own cats would enter or exit...) I recommend periodically checking that the lock is in the correct position so your pets are not stuck on either side unknowingly.

We adopted a 10 old cat that is ‘full figured’ so I ordered/ installed an appropriate ‘dog’ size door. It all went well (but I wish there would have been an extra ‘tunnel’ kit because our location had to be through a 6” wide wall with outside siding on one side and standard drywall on inside and had to finish the ‘tunnel’ with wood sides which added A LOT of meticulous cut/ try & repeats! Turned out well in the end. BUT… the bottom magnet strength on the hanging swing door was way too strong for even out adult cat to open. She just felt it was ‘locked’ no matter how many times I layed on the floor in ‘training exercises’ given it a little initial push… which she would immediately go on though… but never got that she need to push a lot harder initially to free the short but strong initial magnetic force. What are cat schools teaching? Anyway I removed one of the lower magnets and it was still too strong holding force. Finally removed the second magnet and now she had no issue! But still after two months is cautious in opening/ passsge going through. I experimented last week putting one magnet back… AND IT WAS A NO GO AGAIN. So we’re back to no bottom magnets and Isabella (Izzy) comes and goes (still cautiously as she likes. Forgot the mention this is only to access a large screened in porch area so no issues with other critters getting inn with easier access. And also should mention no issues with even gusty winds conditions pushing the door open w/o any magnets because of the excellent ‘hairs’ that are used to make the swing door ‘air-tight’.

MOUNTED THIS DOOR GOING INTO A COVERED PATIO. HAD TO GO THRU PLYWOOD, SHEET ROCK & 2" STUCCO. FITMENT IS GREAT AND SECURES NICELY. DO NOT THINK THIS DOOR WOULD WORK WELL IF EXPOSED TO DIRECT WEATHER BUT FOR MY NEEDS IM VERY HAPPY WITH IT. APPROXIMATELY 5" GAP FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE WHICH I FILLED WITH ARTIFICIAL GRASS. LOOKS GREAT. WHAT I DONT LIKE IS THE LOCKING FEATURE. I PREFER A SINGLE MECHANISM INSTEAD OF 2....JUST MY OPINION.

This cat door is sufficiently big enough for our needs. However, the installation was a little difficult. The hardware was not enough for a smooth installation. The kit comes with four very short wood screws and four longer wood screws. During install, they can hit each other. It would be much better to include just four long thin bolts and nuts to go through the opening all the way to the other side. If the bolts are too long, they could be cut. This is what I have for the interior cat doors, and they work great. Also, the thin brush around the perimeter of the flap keeps coming off at the bottom; I have tried pressing back on, but still comes off during the heat of the day.

Easy to install didn't take my cat long to figure it out I went with a larger size not because I have big cats but because why not for a few more dollars it makes it easier on the animals to go through I bought mine to go from the kitchen to the garage so I don't have to worry about leaking and because I bought a larger size my cats have had no problem with clips on the bottom that control the Inward and outbound locking mechanism so highly recommend not getting the small one. We weren't sure if the cats would adjust to it but the one at home now, used it the same day it was installed. The other one is at the vet so we will see how that works for him. Excellent price and easy to install, my husband used a jigsaw and it was ready to go in less than an hour.
