I wanted a door to put at my basement door to lock cats downstairs when needed or let them come and go as desired. It was easy to install, didn't take much time. Some of my cats use it and like to play with the flapper. I do have problems with the locking part. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't . Suppose to slide the locks to decide if you want it to lock or just one direction lock. It doesn't work correctly as it shows . Little disappointed it doesn't do what I needed it to do. I installed this in the drywall so the cats could go out into the garage from the laundry room. Easy to install. I did, however, remove the magnet on the base of the door flap because I felt like it was too hard for my fatties to push. I have large cats up to 18 pounds and this is a good size door that they don’t have to crouch so much to get through. It’s very comfortable for them. It’s a no frills door simple, locking mechanism. The media could not be loaded. I have been wanting & in dire need of a mechanism for my two baby girls who happen to be indoor/outdoor. For reference, I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment. Was getting sick of leaving windows open or having to open the door for them CONSTANTLY. Became a huge problem convenience & safety wise but also given our living situation we could not get a regular big cat door thing. Been researching these little doors alot & decided to go with this one particularly the large one. I realized I could of gone smaller once it came in however it’s not a problem & atleast they will be comfortable & have plenty of room to go through. Thankfully, I happen to have a close family friend who is very handy with all maintence kind of things who told me he would be glad to make me the whole window insert to go with the cat door. Pretty sure he just used wood & had to sand down the wood pallet & the cat door aswell a little bit for it to fit the exact size of my window. After he inserted the wood part & the door separately next to it, he then taped up any openings to keep the air out & we put two window clamps on top to secure the window. So far it has been a great success & I am extremely happy with the end result! I will say it is not the best quality & I wouldn’t expect it to last years & years but I believe it is well worth the price for sure! The locking mechanism is alright. So far no issues with it. It’s nice to have the options of locking either ways in & out. My cats adapted very quickly, within a few hours. I had to give them a little help & guidance at first but they got it down fast. I got this to give the cats easy access to the basement without having the door open. I have four cats. The smallest is 6lbs the biggest is a big boy at 17 lbs. They all fit through and can easily open the door. Lock works but we don’t need to use it much. Wouldn’t recommend on an exterior door because people out there are weird these days. Our dog is 10 lbs and fits thru to large cat door without any issues. I appreciate that I can lock the door keeping him in or out or freedom to go in and out as he wishes. Good quality product that was very easy to install. Directions are poor but we watched a YouTuber and it came out perfect.
