  • Just like C2!
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
Update: after some good use with the rower wanted to leave an updated review. To keep it short, I stated this thing was like a C2 rower. It is, it is an air resistant rower and has the durability of C2. There is one downfall to it I do not like. It does not matter how hard you row or the force exerted, the machine will only account for 6 meters rowed at a time and calories accumulate at this slow rate as well. I feel like I do double if not triple the work on this rower to achieve cals in my wods vs what I would on a C2. Other than that no complaints. I never take the time to leave reviews, but I had to for this rower. I am a CrossFitter and have a home gym I’ve built. This was the final piece of equipment to complete my gym at home with everything you could possible need for any WOD. (Even have a GHD machine so you understand I am serious) I knew I wanted an air resistance rower just like the Concept2 Model D we see used in the box and at the games. Couldn’t find one, not even a used one, reasonably priced in my area. Looked at this one for days trying to decide what to do, despite there being no prior reviews, part of why I am leaving one, it looked just like a C2 so I took a gamble and ordered. So glad I did! Arrived in 2 days, essentially no assembly required(very minimal) and it is just like a C2 we all use in the gym! Amazing rower and great price. Anyone who is looking for a C2 rower but not wanting to spend the $1,300 for it or even if you are willing to spend that much; don’t. Buy this rower instead, same quality and type of rower just half the price. ... show more

  • Like it came off the Concept2 production line
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
About 15 years ago I did some rowing on a team for a couple summers. I enjoyed it, amazing workout and a lot of fun in general. As part of that, at the facility we'd train on Concept 2 ergs when not on the water, and I ended up finding a used one around then for home use. That thing was built like a tank and gave me an all over body workout, some of the best shape of my life. Eventually though, I just kinda got bored using it at home with it and no real coaching or anything to keep me as motivated. I eventually moved into MMA training for a number of years, it got used much less and sold the rower for more than I paid given their reputation and demand, but I'd always regretted parting with it. Fast forward to now, as I'm getting older, still love fighting, but it is very tough on my joints, especially my hands and I was looking for something that was as good of an all over workout, but with much less impact and my mind went back to rowing. My wife and I have already been using the Peloton for biking (great cardio but not full body), and I saw they had rowing classes as well you could pull up on the app. This worked really well for my goals and what I wanted to do, it's engaging and different every time I get on the machine and it keeps me interested and from getting bored like before. I'd looked into another Concept2, but the prices are crazy and have actually gotten worse. I was bummed out but started to look into other options and stumbled upon this unit. I couldn't be much happier!! While still not cheap per se, it's basically half the price of a Concept2, and with any discounts or amazon points it was next to nothing. I'd seen some people complain about the display and it not counting meters correctly. To be upfront, I can see how that would be an issue depending on the type of training you're doing, but I haven't looked closely at that aspect of it as its not something I'm focusing on. Working in the Peloton app, so far it's only seemed like I need stroke rate overall and to be able to change the resistance, both of which seemed accurate and I've had zero issues with. Outside of that, only other major measurement is time rowed, which can be tracked a billion ways. I've been using the unit the better part of a month and it's been great with no problems. Honestly, it really feels like it came off the Concept 2 line and they slapped different labels on it. The machine itself feels super sturdy and substantial, the pull and resistance levels feel exceptionally close if not spot on to the Concept2. The seat felt a little softer than the Concept2, but that's not a bad thing at all. Handle feels similar if not the same. The rest? I'd guess about 99% identical... The frame is rock solid. The only thing I've seen that felt "lesser" was the display, which again, 100% fine depending on what you're doing. And the only nitpicky gripes I've had are the decals are super cheap, and it's a little snug connecting the rail main part of the unit if you break it down for storage, otherwise though... can't say enough good things. If you're going my route though and and looking at it for just workout purposes and are using something like the Peloton app with it or are focused more on heart rate, resistance, strokes and time it's perfect. If you're competitively rowing and need those absolute spot on metrics (especially distance), it pains me to say this as it's soooooo good across almost all areas, but maybe spend the extra money on a Concept2 or a similarly regarded unit. ... show more

  • So far so good!
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
I've only used this a few times, but so far I'm happy with it. Many years ago I owned a cheap rower and it was ok, but over 10 years ago I got to use a Concept II for a while and I knew I wanted a rower like that. This one appeared to be a decent knock-off and so far I'd say it is. I wouldn't say it's as solid as the Concept II I used years ago, but it's close and I wonder if the new ones are as solid. The assembly for this was fairly simple as you can use the Allen wrench they provide. Mine did have a slight defect where a bolt hole didn't quite line up, but I was able to make it work. That's probably the only real negative and if I wasn't relatively handy it could have been an issue. The unit seems to row nicely. The resistance doesn't seem to go quite as high as I remember from the C2 (and I was in better shape years ago), but it's probably enough for me. If you're a serious rower you'd probably want the C2 or maybe the new Rogue model. IIRC the C2 had a less comfortable seat than this one so that's a plus. It would be nicer if you could just fold this up to move out of the way, but it does separate and go back together easily enough. All in all I'm glad I spent enough to get a really solid rower for about half the cost of the C2. ... show more

  • Pretty decent machine
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
I am writing this having mainly only used a Concept 2 rower, which is why I bought this, since it is very similar. I have only used the rower for a half hour so far, to get a workout in and to get a feel for the rower. It seems like a pretty good machine for the money, there are a few minor things that make it seem slightly "cheaper" than a Concept 2. The monitor for one, which other people have complained about, it is working just fine right out of the box, time will tell, I wish it would stay back lit so that it could be seen easier, but it seems like tilting it back slightly makes it much easier to read. But I suppose that would kill the batteries much quicker. It would be interesting to figure out if a pm5 monitor could be retrofitted onto it. Something I will possibly look into. The foot rest pads seem like a slightly harder plastic than a Concept 2, not a big deal, just an observation. I would say that it if I didn't know I wasn't on a Concept 2 I wouldn't know the difference except for the monitor and the handle feels slightly different. All that being said, I can really only compare it to what I have used previously. If I didn't know the difference I would say it's a great rower. Also, maybe the new Concept 2 rowers are more similar to this than the slightly older ones that I have used. The frame is very sturdy, it definitely seems well made. I will update if things change. ... show more

  • New to rowing but happy with this purchase
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
First of all, I have to say that I am a very inexperienced rower. I just recently became interested in rowing because I was looking for a full body workout that I can do during the winter time as I can't get out on my bicycle as much. Setup was very easy. Probably took me about 20 minutes tops. The machine is relatively large, which I'm assuming all rowing machines are probably about the same size. I did my research and from what I gathered if you're paying under $500 it's probably not worth purchasing. I could be totally wrong on it because this is the only machine that I've ever had and I've only been using it for a little over a week. Everything on it seems to work very smoothly. It has wheels so you can pick it up and move it around. The seat is very comfortable. The handle is very comfortable. It is not very loud. It kind of just sounds like a fan. It has an adjustable 1 to 10 resistance for the fan. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my purchase for spending right around $600. The only complaint I would probably have about it is the display unit that has the screen and a holder for your phone is not very tight. I'm sure if I messed with it I could probably tighten it up. But if you have a phone on it and you're trying to watch a video or something of that nature while you're rowing, more than likely, it's going to fall forward or fall backwards. Not that big of a deal cuz I'm mainly just listening to music but just something to keep in mind. ... show more

  • Less Expensive Concept 2
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
The Pasyou is an amazing machine. If you're used to rowing on a Concept2 then you'll feel no difference in the pull. I think the handlebar and seat on the Pasyou fit me little nicer. I am using my old Fire tablet for a screen. I had to install the APK version of the App but that's no problem. I have currently only used the App in free row. Prefer this over a PM5 screen any day. Not exactly sure how the metrics line up if you are a die hard rower. I just need to know my performance relative to the last and it does that well. Construction is like it and the Concept came off the same line. Would not be surprised if parts interchange. For those that don't know. This machine is dead silent except for the sound of air being pushed by the flywheel. Incredibly sturdy for me who is 6'4" 205lbs. Happy to be able to bring gym equipment home for a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Great for the price
Color: PR70-Air Rowing
Was reluctant to buy this as it only had one review, but it was very positive. My husband and I had been searching for a rower for our home gym. We wanted a C2 as we had both used them in the past, but could not stomach the price at this time, with having to buy other pricey equipment to complete our build. This has all the features of the C2 (chain drive, similar handle and seat/rail feel, air resistance instead of magnet). Build quality is probably a little less than C2, but no issues yet. Fairly easy to assemble, directions and all parts included. The monitor isn't great, but gets the job done and for the price I can't really complain. Overall, very happy with our purchase and glad we did not spend double just to get the C2 name. ... show more

  • Great price Good Machine Great price Good Machine
Great for the price but instructions are challenging. If you’ve ever put together items from IKEA then you’ll understand. Otherwise, Im in love with this machine. Im 5’1 so its good for my size. Quiet & pretty solid. Resistance is impressive. Good addition to have for a home gym.
