My original plan was to use this around my yard to locate stray metal bits that end up in the soil, and it’s been useful for that. I don’t love the idea of running into sharp stuff later, so scanning the ground first just makes sense. The detector picks up signals in a way that feels repeatable, so when I go back over the same spot, I’m not getting a totally different story each time. What I appreciate is the way I can tighten down where the target is. Once it gives a strong signal, I can slow down, work a smaller area, and dig with less guesswork.
