The cat won't use it unless we humans to hold it open for her. Because that's what cats do. Aside from that, sturdy door. Mostly easy to install, little bit of difficulty because the screen door frame was thicker than the pet door frame, had to put something under the frame to keep it in place while joining the two sides. It took a solid week of pushing it open for her, or holding it open with a clip and a shoelace, but she finally figured it out! Cat is very happy. I was afraid she would be confused and disappointed if we locked and she couldn't tell when it was and wasn't locked, so instead I glued magnets on it and, at night, I put a piece of corrugated plastic over it as a visual cue that she can't go through it. Easy to install, works great. A game changer. Just don't give up. They can learn it. ... show more

Added two times (on both an old screen door and a new pet screen door). Both times were very smoothy. Only taking one night and a dozen of treats, then a 3-month puppy learned how to use it.
