Bought this set of pens for live art events. And, it is a really good set of pens. The positives: The different tips are able to handle multiple drawings. The tips are soft, but durable...and held up while working on illustrations. The ink flow is beautiful! Put up with rapid use. Did 40 illustrations in 4 hours and they held up. Tips did not dry out. The negatives: The metal base for the medium did slip out a bit from the base, causing a bit of ink leakage. But, much better then the tombow alcohol markers which leaked all over. The lettering to let you know the size of tips...should be placed on the pen base, and not the cap, cause they rubbed off. Which caused some slow down. The oils on the hands rubbed off the S/M letters on those pens.(The rest of the printing on the pen itself was fine.) Overall great for drawing and lettering, smooth lines...and work well for live event artists. Just keep an eye on the metal part of the tip on the medium. Definitely worth the value. We bought these for my 11 year old daughter who was showing an interest in learning calligraphy. We bought a basic calligraphy book and this set of basic pens/markers for her to learn with. They work well. They offer different sizes, which helps with the different strokes (some of which are thicker). The media could not be loaded. I’m updating the review following a replacement. I’m pleased with the quality. The ink is dark and flows well. It took me a minute to change the way I was writing, but once I did the pens worked wonderfully. See new pictures and video. Original: 3 of 5 stars (Damaged nibs (2/3) and dry. Returning. Might be good if not damaged) I can’t give a complete review because two of the three nibs were damaged and one was almost dry. I love these calligraphy brush pens. These pens are slightly firm and effortlessly glides to create some nice flowing lines depending on the pressure. One of the photos below shows a sample of the large, medium and small pens drawn on a 98lb sketch paper. In two other drawings, I brushed some water over the dry ink because some of the reviews said these pens are not waterproof. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Also, the Craft ’n’ Beyond pen's ink dries pretty fast and doesn't smudge when dry. Another photo shows a comparison of the Sharpie vs Craft ’n’ Beyond pens. I drew a line and a heart with both pens but I drew a curly border only around the Sharpie pen. The line next to the “Sharpie” shows a dot at the end of the line caused by bleeding when stopping the pen. The line next to the Craft ’n’ Beyond doesn’t have that dot at the end of the line when stopping the pen, so no bleed. When I drew on the reverse side of the paper you see that “Sharpie's” name, the heart and the curly border drawn with the Sharpie bled through but notice that "Craft ’n’ Beyond's" name and heart did not bleed through. There is a slight "see through" due to the thin paper but no bleed. These pens are so fun to draw with and I love the results. They have a nice flow to them.
