I received the vacuum system to replace a 10 year old nutone system that died. Before replacing, I tried nutone customer service and got the cold shoulder. I looked into the part cost if I tried it without their help and found that replacing with a new OVO system would cost me about the same as replacing a couple suspect parts on the nutone. The unit arrived very well packaged in two days. I don't think even the mail system could damage it with how well it was packaged. Installation took me about 1 1/2 hours. I had to move the piping since the old unit had input on the side and the OVO has the input on the top but that is relatively easy. Directions provided were clear though they were not really even needed due to how simple it is. First impressions were very good using the vac. The suction is much, much better than my old system. However, I did find that the system would stop after running for awhile and start back up on it's own. I got ahold of OVO customer service on a Friday night. Amazingly, they responded right away. After talking with them we determined that the issue was in the low voltage. We checked the unit and found no issues. We found the issue in my old nutone hose. Resistance was high in the slip ring for the low voltage. I cleaned and adjusted the slip ring and now it works perfectly. The on/off circuit in the OVO must be more sensitive than the nutone. OVO customer service followed up, even on a Saturday. I highly recommend this product and company. I'm buying a new set of OVO accessories as well! ... show more

This is a very powerful vacuum. I'm a "do it your self-er" and was sure I could handle replacing our Central Vacuum unit which finally gave up the ghost after 45 years (well done!). We didn't need new accessories or beater heads so this unit made sense at a great price. Read reviews and popped the order. Unit arrived well packaged and damage free. Removed old unit and proceeded to install the OVO. There were no installation instructions. None. There were none on their website either. Our old unit had it's inlet on the side of the canister and the exhaust on the top of the unit. Assuming that all central vacs follow about the same format I proceeded to hook it up. Bad assumption. It was blowing instead of sucking. I had connected the inlet and outlet backwards. Re-plumbed it correctly and fired it up. The machine has a soft start and stop feature so the power fades in rather than receiving full amperage at startup, which saves the motor. Nice feature. The unit is ULTRA QUIET. Our old unit was ridiculously loud. Standing right next to this running unit you could carry on a conversation w/o raising your voice. Quiet good !! Now for the suction. Wholly Crap. Amazing suction. I've never seen anything like it. Compared to a Dyson, well , there is no comparison. It's probably 15 times as powerful as a Dyson or any other regular vac that you can think of. My wife was ecstatic. Once you figure out which tube is an and out, installation is a cinch. Unit is made by nice Canadians who return calls. This vacuum is great. The size is huge so I won’t have to empty too often, the installation was easy with an impact concrete drill in my garage. The only down side was I have to redo all of my wall connectors to 2” size. This is my first time owning a home with a central vacuum so I won’t make that mistake again! ... show more

Bought this complete central vac system from OVO for new lakefront cabin, and installing it was a breeze with the matching install kit. Had a Beam system in last home and this system is more powerful, much, much quieter and a very reasonable price of $837 complete. It is so quiet that the installation in our utility closet cannot be heard in other parts of cabin-the noise of the suction from the hose & handle is louder-awesome. And the support from the company in Quebec, Canada (thank you Catherine Roux) was great-one minor piece failed during install and they shipped replacement immediately, arrived fast and now working. The added bonus is that it is manufactured in Canada, NOT China. Highly recommend for new construction or retrofit of other brands, most of which are made in China. This was to replace a Nutone central vac that only lasted 7 years. First off let me say the customer service was simply put "THE BEST". I had an issue with my Nutone hose switch would not shut off the vacuum once it was inserted in to the wall outlet. The tech went over all the possibilities and assured me that the unit is compleatly compatible with all the Nutone hoses and told me what to do which was taking all outlets out and checking the wiring which was going to be a little bit of a chore since there are 7 outlets in our house but right before I was thanking him for this information he said OH! is there a kick plate outlet in the house and I said yes there is. He said check that and make sure it's closed. Bingo! That was it. Amazing vacuum and extremely quiet and easy to install. I recommend getting the flex hose for easy hook up> ... show more
