This Chicken coop has nice features: 1/2" hardware cloth all around, pre-drilled holes, top-open nesting boxes, roosting bars, ramps, comes painted, and the instructions are mostly very good. However, there are some pretty major flaws. - The wood frame is only about 1" x 5/8" -- this is not sturdy enough to keep out a determined, medium-sized predator. It's also not sturdy enough to withstand harsh weather such as high winds. There's also some flaws in the wood with a few places where pieces of wood splintered off. - The paint job looks nice from a distance, but it's not a great job. The paint itself is pretty thin, and there are missed spots. Definitely not enough to protect the wood through a wet and rainy winter. I'd consider the paint job more as a primer job -- cover it with a good coat of some proper outdoor paint if you want this to last. - Yopto supplies all of the screws and clearly indicates which screws to use where... but in every case the screws are too short for the job. I purchased my own, longer wood screws to secure the main frame pieces, and then used the next size up for the indicated screws in almost every case. Use their short screws and I would expect the coop will fail after a few months of use. Basically, this is a nice looking coop with some good features -- but for the high price, I expected something much sturdier. ... show more

Not a bad size coup for a couple of chickens. Definitely not predator proof so should be in a secure area. Bought it because I had a credit for it. Don't think it's worth full price.

OK... there are certainly some things to like about this, but there are some glaring issues that no-one seems to either see or address in previous reviews... Very easy to assemble, as the instructions are easy to follow and as everything is pre-drilled, screwing in the required screws is easy. Comes well packaged, and quickly shipped, so that's a huge plus....but then there's the 'issues'... 1) anyone who has ever raised chickens knows that chickens need a place to roost, and you DON'T want them roosting in the nesting boxes..., but there are no roosting poles in this setup... 2) There is also no where for the chicken to get out of any weather...no enclosed spot that they can go to get out of the wind or snow, etc...beyond going into the nesting boxes...again, we DON'T want them there!, and 3) the whole setup is quite flimsy...very thin material, including the hinges and latches, making it not a very secure 'building' for your chickens, ESPECIALLY if you live in an area that has wild predators like racoons or coyotes, and 3) as this unit is not meant to be moved (once built) due to the flimsy-ness of the wood and connections, there is also no floor...meaning that unless you want to ALSO bury some hardware cloth below the ground-level, you better make sure that the ground you are setting this coop on is COMPLETELY level, or you'll have predators getting into your coop rather easily. Love the concept, but for the price, there are some glaring issues if you want to keep your chicken flock around for a while... ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great little chicken coop kit. I am torn on a 4 or 5 star review - I think I am just mixed on the price point - but I have not had many chicken coop kits to compare.. like any. Our current coop is a shed kit from Home Depot. Important things to note - this is a bit on the light duty side. If you’re not moving it much it should be fine. Walls are all hardware cloth so it should be decent at keeping predators out - but not much will stop a motivated raccoon. Unit was very easy to assemble. I included a couple shots of how the parts come and directions. All the parts were well labeled so it was a piece of cake if it were not 90F out when I did it. Lots of features on this - two sets of nesting boxes with top access, one has a bottom access - roosting spots, ramps to get up, door, small access doors, etc. Final thought is mostly the latches on the door are very cheap. I will probably change them out at some point. For the price a little sturdier bolt latches would be appreciate. If you want a quick shipped to your door assemble and go, this is definitely a decent choice. ... show more

This is a nicely designed chicken coop and looks nice in the yard. It comes in two large boxes, with all the parts and instructions. I would say it is nice for a small chicken farm, otherwise it might get too crowded. I like that it has two boxes and ramps for the chickens, to keep them off the ground. It does not have a bottom, so you may want to secure it to keep other critters from getting in. I also think larger predators could get in, so we will be placing it inside a more secure fenced area, to be safe. The instructions are fairly easy to understand, so it wasn't too hard to put it together. Overall it is a nice little house for backyard chickens, in an area that doesn't have large predators. ... show more

This chicken coop looks nice once it’s finished, but getting there was a challenge. The pieces didn’t always line up perfectly and the instructions could have been clearer, so it took much longer to put together than expected. The material is decent and it seems sturdy enough for a small flock. Once built, it functions fine and provides good shelter, but the assembly process was frustrating.
