I bought the set to replace old non-stick pots. The metal performed well with high heat despite being a bit on the thin side. Eggs came out great upon first use. My only warning is to always use enough oil or butter to keep things from burning. I tried heating bagels without any lubrication (oil or butter) and it left some burn marks that didn't come out on regular washing and scrubbing. I had to use a method my nephew taught me to remove the marks I caused from using high heat on refrigerated bagels without oil. Simply pour some vinegar and a little water in the pot while gradually heating. This gets under the stain and lifts it enough to use a gentle scrub sponge with some salt. Voila, back to new! We used the other pots and pans to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. It was wonderfully successful as well. Finally, I made a small pizza in the oven in my saute pot. Metal handles and even heating made this experiment a success. I looked for a reasonable pot set for myself and found a simple but strong performer. I have only had them for a few weeks and so far its wonderful and useful.

Just what I needed. Quality stainless steel, narrow width with tall walls for occasional deep frying that allows space for other pans while cooking other items on the stovetop. Notches for the strainer basket and an edge to clamp for draining hot oil while draining back into the pot.

***** QUALITY Not many complaints at this price point which is the deciding factor in my 4 star rating. The stainless steel is not of the best quality and thickness of say a more expensive well polished heavy weight stainless steel pot. For higher quality think of the inner pot of an Instant Pot is you are familiar with that appliance. A close up view of the pot will show a “brushed” stainless look rather than a perfect smooth finish. The magnified views on the amazon product page will show this. ***** SIZE Some reviewers mention this pot is too small. It could be depending on the intended usage. The product page clearly states the oil capacity is 3.65 quarts so the size should not be a surprise. In my opinion the pot will only work for a one or two person meal unless you want to cook multiple batches. Some notes on the pot dimensions. The product page says the dimensions are '16.25"D x 8.25"W x 6.75"H': * The 16.25D inches is the end of the long handle to the outer edge of the half round handle. See photos 1 and 2. * The 8.25W inches is from the edge of the pot to the half round handle. The actual cooking diameter is about 6-1/2 inches inches. See photo 1. * The 6.75H is the height of the bottom of the pot to the top of the long handle. The actual cooking height is about 5-1/2 inches. See photo 3. Basket Dimensions: * The diameter of the basket is about 6 inches. See photo 4. * The height of the basket including the “feet” is about 4-1/2 inches. The usable height is about 4-1/8 inches. See photo 5. ***** CLEANING Our first try was fries from fresh potatoes. No problem with the fries. Our second use was frozen fish fillets. A “burnt” (?) residue was left on the sides of the pot. See photo 6. I was able to easily clean using a scratch resistant pad and Bar Keepers Friend. See photo 7. The residue came off with hardly any effort as shown in photo 1. I will admit we made a mistake and overloaded the basket with the fish and I don't know if this would have made a difference. Note on my attached photos: the pot as shown was after only cleaning off the residue so any other crap still on it will be taken care of by the dishwasher. Keep in mind highly polished stainless steel will clean easier than the “brushed” type. I'll keep the pot and use my cleaning option as stated above if necessary.

This is easy to use and clean. I steam all sorts of things from gyoza to bao buns to vegetables and it works great for everything. Definitely analog, but it does the job perfect.

Oster is a reputable brand to begin with. I knew that they were not going to put their name in a low quality steamer. I was right, it is very well built and pleasing to look at. Capacity wise I was in for a surprise, now I have double capacity in this steamer, very good work Oster.

This is a great little fryer. I just wish it was a little bigger. We used to have these as a kid, but I can't seem to find the size we used to have. a 5 qt one would probably be perfect. It's a lit easier to clean than the electric fryer that I had been using. I do recommend this little fryer.
