As a parent of two cats, this fully open, automatic litter box has completely changed my life! My cat put the “f” in finicky so I wasn’t sure how she would adapt to a self cleaning litter box. I chose Robotail because 1) it’s open top and most like her current litter box, 2) it’s extra large and the perfect fit for my little girl who is actually a big cat, 3) it is self cleaning, 4) it’s easy to assemble, disassemble and clean (it has a Teflon coated bottom and a metal rake) 5) it uses most small clumping litter and 6) I can visually monitor the waste in the bin which has a transparent lid and empty when needed. That said, there was a perk I didn’t think would matter but which I really use: the remote control using the app—game changer. For the score, my cat entered the box before fully set up and christened it as soon as I added the litter. I didn’t set it up to clean at first until I saw her using it a few times. Then I activated the unit to clean the recommended 10 minutes after use to give the waste time to absorb the litter and solidify and to give my little girl time to exit the bath room without her being startled. That works, but imagine my surprise when she came to get me to show me that her box was being cleaned. She still does and I go in to praise her for being a good girl. The unit does make a sound during the 4 minute cleaning cycle but the sound can be muted if you’re a light sleeper and your cat toilets at night. This is not a problem I have. The unit has a tray for the deodorizer block and the waste bags are custom fit but can be substituted for others. I am satisfied.

My cats have no problem with this litter box. At first they were a little bit cautious but in no time they were hoping in and putting it to good use. It comes with its own litter which works great with the cat urine smell but trends to track all over the house. I have one cat that takes his duty to burry his leavings very seriously. Because the sides of the machine are low, he puts on an ambitious display of ‘how to throw litter everywhere.’ But, do I still recommend this product? Yup! I do. Just for the odor blocking alone. It’s worth the price. And the fact that it stores the leavings in a tight little box at one end that is easy to get to, Makes me love it even more. And thank you makers for including a nice amount of liners for that little box. There is nothing to touch, nothing to sift, nothing gross at all. Maybe I’ll stop at the shelter and get me another kitty. They are way less work since this litter box came into my life!

I’ve been very satisfied with this automatic litter box. It’s easy to use, sturdy, and works well for my little 5.8lbs & fatty 13.5lb cats. The smooth, non-stick interior makes cleaning quick, and it’s comfortable for my cats to use. The app works reliably and can track each cat’s usage, which is a nice bonus. It cleans shortly after my cat leaves, and the odor control is excellent — there’s barely any smell at all. I also like the compact, modern design since it doesn’t look bulky. My cats took to it right away, and overall it’s made litter box maintenance much easier. Definitely a solid purchase.

Can’t say enough about this cat box. Quiet, easy to clean and empty. Having cats for over 35 years, I was done was scooping. This cat box is an answer to my cat box frustration.

"I bought this litter box because I was going away for several days and didn't want to bother my friends to come over every day. I started using it the day it arrived, and it's been eight days so far, and everything is as expected. My cat accepted it very quickly, and the litter box works great. We used to use a traditional litter box, and switching to this one with the automatic cleaning function is fantastic—it cleans very thoroughly and doesn't smell as bad as a traditional litter box. Everything feels very modern, and we can even track how often my cat uses the litter box on the app. I really like being able to monitor its weight and activity level. So far, I'm very satisfied, and I can go out with peace of mind now."

It worked well at first until my cat started using it more often. He's 14 lb and it was fine for when he pooped in it but because his urine output is so big the rake gets stuck and so it stops working. I can't rely on it when I go away for a couple of days because it's probably not going to clean up everything. At this point the rake is just stuck and it's not working at all.

My cat took to using this litter box pretty quickly, and I think the way it's open and quite large helps with that (he's on the larger side). It also runs its cleaning cycle pretty quietly, and the clumps go straight into the drawer, which actually seals way better than I thought and definitely helps with the odor. Cleaning is straightforward and the plastic is smooth so stuff doesn’t cling to it.
