replacing an older Onkyo from about 8 years ago. Has great features, relatively easy setup. But there are so many options to setup it's a little confusing but after several hours I had it hooked up the way I want. Am using Zone 2 for patio speakers with 5.1 in the main room. plenty of power, remote is more user friendly than my old one. However despite the description this is a TX-NR6050, not a 6050+ The 6050+ IS an exclusive for Costco as someone mentioned, but this IS NOT A SCAM and a great value as it's identical to the Costco model for a hundred bucks less. and the warranty is intact. ... show more

    • Buyer beware not an authorized Onkyo dealer NO WARRANTY ON ONKYO PRODUCTS
The unit was great until it stopped working all the sudden while watching a movie . Would turn on but shut right back off . I contacted Onkyo and was was informed that the seller Halftime is not an authorized reseller so there is unfortunately no warranty on the unit . I was able to get amazon to take the unit back out of the return period with a hefty restocking fee of about $108.00 total . After I dropped the unit off at ups the seller Half time did indeed say they would take the unit back for a full refund but by then it was to late ...... Lesson learned make sure the seller is an authorized dealer of the products they sell or make sure the item is ( SOLD BY AMAZON AND ALSO SHIPPED BY AMAZON) or there will be no warranty. ... show more

Stupid smart unit. Didn’t know I replaced a dinosaur with it. Does the things I want it to and it does things that it thinks it should do but it’s programmed to do them I’m sure

    • Great Receiver for the price
I purchased this to replace and aging Sony 7.1 receiver that was lacking the latest surround sound technology. Very easy to setup. Integration with other services works well. It does a great job upconverting both video and audio. The iPhone app is worthless, but overall very happy with the purchase.

    • I would strongly suggest you download the 170 page manual.
It is hard to improve on perfection. I would suggest modest improvements on the remote, just for ease of use. Otherwise, yahoo, a super unit without the big price tag.
